Ok guys, i've got 2 probs with my car:

Oil consumption - it seems to go thru about 1L every 3000km-4000km or so. This cant be normal. I normally use magnatec (10w/40), then Hanny's put in some Honda oil (10w/30?), which seemed to disappear even quicker. I'm about to try a thicker oil now (motul 20w/50) and hopefully that will help slow things down.
What could be the problem?? and is this expensive to fix? THe thing is that there is no smoke so i have no idea where its goin.

Secondly, i've recently had trouble starting my car, moreso in the mornings. When i turn the key, i hear the relay click once and thats it. When i keep trying, the engine turns over a lil bit and then stops. After a few more goes it'll start. This usually happens in the morning, and doesnt happen for the rest of the day.
Starter motor? Relay? Battery?? i thought it was the starter, but it still turns over a lil....hmmz..and it doesnt explain why it'll work for the rest of the day. THats why i thought it might be the battery coz the alternator would have charged it all day.

Any help will be appreciated guys...
cheers

wash the engine till clean and check for leaks, as for the starting problem when i used to own a da9 check the voltage on your battery it should be around 12v with engine off and close to 14v when running. if that still fine move on and check the relay this should be underneath the dash.. dont remember the location. its the starter relay either test it with a brand new one or borrow your friend da9 or civic one it should be the same. and try it should solve the starting problem.

I wouldnt suggest changing to a thicker oil just because you're losing/burning it faster.

Oil rings might be pretty worn, depending on the Km's that your car has done that migt be a or the problem with the Oil burning, also if youo wanna give it a try do a comp test and also try to use Oil thickening additives, you may find out they might help with the Oil consumption.

As to the Starting problem, it could be the Battery, coz if it only happens in the morrning it might be loosing charge or it keeps getting cold (thats if you leave your car outside over night) try another battery or take the battery out one of these nights and leave it charging overnight, then the following day place it back in and see if it starts, if it does then you might have a voltage problem somewhere in the car or if it still doesn't then the battery is stuffed and keeps freezing or droping voltage while you leave your car outside overnight

I wouldnt suggest changing to a thicker oil just because you're losing/burning it faster.I was under the impression that thicker oil was meant to last longer?!? I'm pretty sure thats the general idea...greater viscosity means it should take longer to leak through any worn seals.....

There arent any leaks (had em fixed last service) so i'll try checkin the battery today. Good idea with the charging LO_N_SXC....i'll give it a shot tonight.

But i dont go that hard...i drove quite tamely for a bit and it still drank around the same amount of oil.

starting prob could be something simple like dirty battery terminals or a bad earth.. take em off and clean em up! inc. the earth on the gearbox, also check the + cable connection on the starter

and i wouldn't worry about that oil consumption, if the car still runs fine otherwise, just keep puttin oil in it! give it a rebuild if it gets down to like 1L every 1000km tho lol
