MoDCoN

hahah. no

more like rally, where the road is sealed off. touge doesnt have to be illegal

Dont know what you have down your way, but hit up your local MG car club. You dont have to have an MG to join. Well, around here you dont, you pay your fee which 'buys' you a share of a rusted pos they have sittin around somewhere lol. Thus, makin you an 'owner' of an MG.

They normaly have lots of hill climbs and khanacross (sp) events organised. Again, I dont know your local situation, but here ( around Newcastle) theres events pretty often.

Good luck!

You never know it might be the next big thing after drift dies down a bit.

But with the classic MG clubs, even at full speed in the mountains, they would still be under the speed limit.. That's why it's possible for them. :D

Yeah people might start using hill climb tracks in reverse

Yeah people might start using hill climb tracks in reverse

Never thought of that! good idea!
Emphasis would be alot more on driver skill, rather than traction out of slow corners( bad for high powered FF) and uphill grunt (something most of our hondas are lacking :( )

I'd also like to see it, so far I've done a hill climb twice, in my GTR it was challenging, the civic handles well it just lacks the grunt. You'd have to check with CAMS on what teh rules would be running in reverse though cause it would be dangerous

Also if your in NSW, there area few HC places, Huntley near dapto, Raymond terrace near new castle and Wakefield park near goulburn

true,
However it would be nice if an event was organised on a private road...
Somewhere where cars can be put into classes and there is no fear of having a head on with a truck that might happen to wonder on2 your side of the road whilst your going round a posted 35kph bend at double that...
I mean not that it has ever happened to me:rolleyes:

Steer^Gimic
06-12-2005, 07:18 PM
haha. as good as it sounds in theory, lets just take a minute to think of how difficult it would be to organise such an event.

vicroads/rta notification, public liability, insurance etc...

touge isnt big, like say drifting here, so support wouldnt be that great.

for know, just keep it to yourself, stay safe and hope to god that truck doesnt come your way :)

You might want to consider Morwell Hillclimb, and also the annual Mt Buller hill climb if you are in Victoria.

Heres a typical hill climb track as you can see it would need some mods to be run reverse they would have to make the top of it longer to get a bit of speed up before getting into the corners.

plus have to finish it earlier to give you time to stop after the flying finish.

man i like the real tight twisty stuff, that hill climb looks to "open"

mr r32 m
22-12-2005, 05:52 AM
you obviously haven't seen one in real life have you?

sure on a map it looks open, but when your driving its a different story.

at huntley there is no run off area, you make a mistake and your pretty much going to hit the wall or barrier,

I wish I could find photos of 4, 5 and 6. That section really tightens up with trees and retaining walls.

how come no1 has mentions mccarrs creek road down between mona vale and palm beach

its abt 15-18km long and u can hit it from both directions. uphill and downhill

awesome stretch of road. and not many cars at all. last time we went we did around 10km of it undisturbed. and then found some traffic. but then u just slow down to 10km/hr for 5mins and u can go again and finish off the rest of the road with no traffic in sight

Spoon DA9R
30-03-2006, 04:34 PM

the lude was on my mates arse the whole time pushing him, but the LS we lost pretty easily. I guess his 1.8L engine just has no power lol, my mate was saying he should get some boost .. lmao

For sydneysiders:

"Mitchells Pass" near Springwood

named after the bloke who overcooked one of the three hairpins at the bottom of the run..

fun
