i had a really interesting idea

well over the times i have seen people send in multiple for sales thread and moderators locking it up and saying put all your sales things in one thread of use your original thread..

ie for my forsales right now i used my OLD thread from yonks ago... (just trying to stay out of trouble)

neway my idea was giving each person 1 forsales thread and it will never be able to lock up or whatever but each person has the ability to "moderate" his or her own forsales thread.. ie removing old post chaging the titles.. removing unwated spam.. and pretty much making a newthread out of a old thread so when everything on the old thread is sold.. they can start a "clean slate"

theres probably reasons i dont know off that would really complicate this particular idea but i thought it sounded pretty coool.. like for example right now my forsale thread has like 20 od replies that relates to alll my already sold stuff, but my original first post doesnt hold any of those items.. instead of getting a mod to remove them or whatever. we would remove the unwanted post.. (or very useful if someone is trolling your forsales thread IE alphabeatsco thread =P untill the mods removed him forcefully..)

if everyone was allocated a forsales thread, then there would be thousands of threads, most unused. this would mean huge data usage as well. so i'm personally not for it. but food for thought anyway!

umm ok.. wasent quite what i was trying to say.. rephrase..

we make the forsale thread but once made it stays there.. and is there for us to moderate to remove trolls spam "annoyances"... ladida....

it seems to me i didnt use my forsales thread for yonks and it was still here when i came back to it.. so it would use space neway.. but it would save space if you reuse the old one instead of making a totalling new thread... would it not ?


according to my calculations theres about.. 1320 sales thread in the forsales sections and i would expect quite a few of them to be made by powersellers (people who sell alot) in the OH community...

any normal "member" editing can be done within the first day i believe ( liek title etc) ~ otherwise , its as simple as PMing any moderator online to edit it for you.

And , its common sense why we only allow ONE open thread at any one time ~ with the front page soo small its fair enough to give every person a chance to keep their "sale" on the front page.
There is no need to delete FS threads ~ simpyl post "sold plz close" and one of us mods will lock it up.

OR just let the old FS thread sink to two or three pages back then make a new one.

and i have edited the title, to something like WTB: alot of things.. but yet.. it still unchanged/ if u click on the link. you will see

that is the normal level of "editing" any member has. It will not change the original thread title.
As i have said twice over you can PM a mod to change the title for you.

mm well what about the "alphabeatsco" trolling issue where some newbie member comes on and uses his thread to sell his own stuff?granted i know u mods cant be everywhere at once.. but giving us the ability to atleast "control" our one forsales thread would be much easier?

maybee just deleting the questions people ask about the old forsales items would be good just for our own forsales.. if u take a peek at my thread the first 2 pages are filled with old questions from my last forsales.. if i kept selling and editing my front page would it not become a 50 page sales thread where the first 48 pages are probably useless sold stuff? its just so its neat..

although thread title changes would be great.... isent that the point of this thread is to help bring ideas to the greater good of OH =P.. (*smirk*)....
