OK, it's a really quick and dirty Photoshop job, but I think even just respraying the chrome body-coloured is an improvement -- and cheaper than lashing out on a whole new grille...

It's only that middle bar of chrome that looks out of place. I think top and bottom are ok. But the wheels..............

I'm not a chrome fan either but there's just one reason why I didn't respray the chrome on my old car.

Don't do it unless you can get some paint that will stick to the chrome really good. This is because stone chips will take the paint of the chrome easily and make it even uglier than before.

Good luck.

I don't like the new grille at all.

I am however a bit peeved that they're now offering an optional satellite navigation system after a dealer told me it wasn't going to be an option any time soon when I bought my Euro 2 months ago :(. Wonder if it can be retrofitted? :D

yes it can, but at a 10K cost.

Jesus, I thought it was a ~2K option. I might call some wreckers and ask them to keep an eye out for any smashed Euros with sat nav ;)

Do you know if there is there any major difference in the interior of the new Accord compared to the '05 that would make this a particularly difficult task?

not sure....UNLS1 when he test drove the 06 euro said that there was an 05 euro with retrofitted 06 satnav. and u know honda and their parts department. overpriced on bloody everything.
so it can be retrofitted but i dont think its THAT much better....i mean, essentially ur swapping "stock for stock" if u get my drift....
i would personally get a NAVMAN which is portable and have it nicely mounted somewhere rather than have a massive screen in the middle (although, it would be nice for that extra wank factor :D)

Ha ha ha, wank factor is what it's all about is it not? ;)

I do agree though, the NAVMAN is probably all round a much better solution. I especially like the new icn-520 after playing with one in the local Dick Smith a couple of weeks ago. I imagine this is the way I'll be going.

The wheels are awful. IMHO.

i was wondering... if i purchased the body coloured grill trims from the 03-05 euro-R grille could i simply fit those to my current grill?

all i don't like is the chrome, the grill itself looks fine atm (seeing that photoshop kinda convinced me it could work)

chris, you have PM :D

and yes, for anyone else that would like to know, u CAN mix and match.
LOC888 had a EURO R grille with the standard OEM chrome trim on his euro for a while, until he swapped over and went for the colour coding.
Conversely, u can attach the JDM euro R colour coded trim to our CL9 euro

EDIT : rumaged thru some threads here and found it. here's LOC888's old euro with JDM Euro R honeycomb grille with OEM chrome bits
