We can not control what threads are started here, we can just monitor them and edit when nessessary.

Its up to you guys to start up good and intresting threads, and try not to fill them up with crap 'spam' posts

I think some people need to take a step back and ask themselves, What do they want with this forum? Why are you here? and What can i get out of it? There are many other forums online these days including some very resourceful websites. Yet somehow everyday you will find someone being stupid and act disrespectfully to those who try to build these knowledge bases. Age has no control upon post maturity. Perhaps a solution to the problem is expanding the Lounge section to incorporate car related post whoring? Yet at the end of the day, we all must realise no one is being paid to moderate this bandwidth and absolutely no one is forcing us to participate.

If you walk into a room of shouting kids do you have to hang around ?

I agree with wat some of the others have said. It's true, the mods aren't able to monitor Ozhonda 24/7, I'm sure they all got their own lives too. It's best if you actually think about what you're about to post and actually search for it first before even creating a new thread it would help alot.

since the mods might not have thoguht of this. and they are into making rules for new comers. why dont they only allow the SEARCH page function avaible to new comers. so as soon as they log in, they are in teh search page, and can only open pages SEARCHED for.

edited: and only allow 2-3 posts per day limit on new comers, with an alert to a mod everytime a post by new comer is made so they can monitor whether or not it is a post needing to be deleted.

we have thought of that a long time ago ~ and again with the limiting posts per day etc.

IMO the teg section isnt too bad - altho the teg "mods" are hardly to be seen.

At the end of the day its what our forum enables us to implement -there are various "hacks" for this forum type and afaik sometimes patches conflict with others if that makes sense.

One thing i have noticed is everyone seems to be eager to "have a say" in threads like this , yet never applies thought to helping out in the real (not real) world.

USE the "report bad post" icon guys ! And PM a mod if need be too !

Agreed. We dont sit on the computer all day looking at the forums. If you find thread or post you think isn't good, then report it instead of filling it with spam.

I think that any kind of debate like this is good, as long as mods are aware of it, and you do your best in assisting them in fixing it.

dont get so sooky everyone, for example, im sure that if you needed help to do something Q-Ball, you would be able to find heaps of people to give you a hand with solving your problem.

And I know for SURE, that when you have a lot of people to look after, like at my work, or at OzHonda.com, I know I can't keep everyone happy, I just have to get the best balance of both worlds.

Even the managers who work for me disagree with my opinion, and they might kick and scream and stuff, but as long as we're all working together for the same goal, if they have an opinion or an idea that is better than mine, I would be stupid to totally disregard it. But, if they're just going to be sooky about it, and get upset because things arent going their way, well, honestly, as long as the job still gets done, who really gives a crap about administration.

I doubt they will split up the Integra sections for the different generations. Just search before you start up a thread. Alot of new users are just starting new threads for help they need but the threads are all there. They just need to search!

we cant help it every one loves the LS
It's more like its the most affordable Integra that majority of P platers drive.

I think we should implement a lock on the Terms and Conditions, that will force the "new users" of this forum to read all the terms and conditions before proceeding.. Microsoft does it with a few of their applications from memory...

overclockers (as i know some of you guys read) has a section for complete noobs. where u can ask any question whatsoever and no one would flame etc...

not suggesting that we do that but it's what they do and it works for them.

but a part of the reason for so much junk in these forums is the fact that some people sign up purely to sell.

nothing inconvenient of your first few visits or time here in the "newcomers : learn the ropes!" section !? I think its a ok idea , relevant to both complete noobs and also pros signing up for the first time alike.

have you guyz tried searching in awhile....its getting pretty bad cause of all the junk thats already in the system....seriously i try to search for stuff but find myself looking for like 10 pagez of junk to find one good thread...i honestly dont know how that can be fixed but just saying maybe thats y u get some of the noob questions and threads cause they cant find anything

I think that the people who complain here are the ones that are jsut looking for an interesting read. Like teaching a newbie to change a brake light globe isnt the most exciting thing but thats what this forum is about, putting up a question and letting people discuss/answer them. The internet is full of geeks not mechanics ;)

Thats why a propose a Newbie section. somewhere where the dumb questions can be ask and not get flamed. Plus all the people who dont want to see it dont go there.
