well if none of those work.....then its probably your speed sensor or VSS

what year is your car.

flip top lights dont mean much to everyone.

my guess you got an 1986 teg, their cable driven, you cable has poped out at the tranny end.

88 will still have a cable speedo

follow it to the gearbox and see if its loose

it mite hav also been disconected at the cluster but ether way its dead simple to fix
unless someone has snaped off the clip in which case i would recomend superglue if u dont want the hassles of getting a whole new spedo cable and installing it. this is ur run around right??

i pulled off the dash and it was connected on the cluster end
so i followed the cable to the gearbox
and there it was, snapped off the clip :(
and plugged in nothing =\

i need to clean my engine...
30 seconds in my engine bay and my hand was black
grrr :!: :!:

so the cable is snapped?
cable shilding snaped?
or snapped housing on the box
if its just the shilding or the hosuing is can get a bodgy fix up
someone tried to unplug my cable coz it had dun so many kl's and then cracked the housing coz they didnt remoce the clip

push it back in

sometimes there a bitch to get back in, but you shoudl be able to figure it out, just line up the notches

did you loose the little clip that is ment to hold it in, its ment to lock into the spline on the cable. another option is to push it in and use cable ties to hold it in place

i guess its time to get ripped off at my local mechanic :thumbdwn: :thumbdwn:

safley jack the car up, support it on jack stands
start the car, put it in gear and let the engine idle, then push the cable in,

this is a quick way to line up the cable and the gearbox notch. then put the clip in to hold in in place. if you have no clip. get one. or use cable ties to hold the cable to somthing to hold it in place.
