Just wondering what would be the best insulating material to keep heat out and keep cold air in? I want to insulate my airbox to try and reduce the heat soak...

any advice?

make an airbox out of fibreglass. its light and will keep the heat out.

if you already have an airbox you can get this stuff from clark rubber. its like foam with a foil skin on one side and sticky on the other side. We use it heaps for insulating metal duct in airconditioning work (family business) its pretty cheap, i used it on a mate that made an airbox out of sheetmetal. The only downside IMO is is cuts the noise heaps too so you wont hear the mad induction noise as much anymore.

nah, havent tried it yet, but will be using it to insulate my oil pan from my headers...

i think it is overkill for an airbox, unless it is on a dedicated track car...
