sounds like you need a brake master cylinder rebuild, parts are about $80 to $90 plus labour

could just need a good change in fluids.
Flush the fluid and put new brake fluid 4 dot synthic is good ro go OEM.
Make sure you bleed them properly

well, i was driving.. then when the lights went red, i went to hit the brakes but all i heard was this airy sound
when i got home, i looked at the container with the brake fluid and it was bone dry. so i filled it up. then i noticed it was all leaking back out under the left front tyre.
now its fixed :D
