I was watching NBC Dateline this morning and they did a test on a few cars. The Hondas were the TL and the TSX.
They did the rear end pole test, front collision test and angled test at 5mph and the TSX/Euro faired very badly with a POOR rating for accumulating I think 1300USD in damages. The testers found out that Acura tried to fudge the test by strategically placing a styrofoam behind the bumper and the testers removed it.
Many replies from the manufacturers including Acura stated that those test do not conform to real life accident safety on their cars. Acura also said the styrofoam does not justify that they are fudging the system..
Overall, the New mitsubishi Galant performed best in the tests.
