i know there are some already but hey the more reviews the merryier:D.
i recieved my twinloop muffler from trav (egSi). was postage wrapped well and came to my door in perfect nic'. on inspectioni realised i had recieved the "revised" version which differs in style slightly to the original twinloop. having a shorter tip is the most noticable and improved change.
sound: after installation i was delighted to thear a nice soft purr at idle. at WOT the car sound awesome. the exhaust was a little louder than i had expected however i dont have a resonater so...yeh.
the only bad point was that at 2500rpm till 3000rpm ish it makes a horribly tinny rasp noise. and i have heard of other having a similar problem.
once the muffler heat up it isnt as bad but still there.
all in all i am happy with it and will be sure to deal with trav again:thumbsup:

i got the one before the revision (longer tip). My thougts are the same as urs.
-little louder than i expeceted but still very quiet compared to a cannon
-i get tinny/metalic resonance at about 2500rpm.

is the tip short enough to fit on a civic hatch with no modification now?

- i have the same but no tinny noise -
did you get a resonator fitted?

- is the tip short enough to fit on a civic hatch with no modification now? -
it fitted mine fine note though i have eg sedan, but i would presume it would sit nicely on a hatch

nice work

im pretty sure the tinny noise is from lack of resonator guys. i have same muff, with resonator and no tinniness

xforce make nice resonators ;)

good writeup :)

its was hard for me coz i had to avoid hitting the swaybar. tip is so damn long so i had to get it cut and tig welded back. bit of screwing around but the end result is worth it.

performance wise u wont notice the difference between twinloop and cannon IMO. im sure the revised version should be fine for the hatch

yup  fitted the twinloop onto the project EG with 2.5" piping and its quite. On idle has the nice rumble to let you know its there but when in vtec its not the annoying farty or rattling sound you would get from most cannons. The sound is smooth and solid and best part its not too loud.

does anybody know who Owned twinloop - is the pipe meant to touch the muffler?

just a quick note, i had an older version twin loop on my eg with full 2.5" exhaust system from turbo back and got epa tested at 94db. although the muffler was very quiet, it would have a louder rev down sound when the tester let go of the accelerator at 4.5krpm. of course in terms of daily driving it seems quiet enough though so you shouldn't get attention from cops. but bear in mind my test was done with turbo kit which means it'll be quieter than n/a.

Whats the best revision of the Xforce twin loop to get for a DC2? I don't want the tinny sound. Is the only difference the length of the tip? Which, from reading seems is only a problem on EG's...So on a DC2 is any revision fine?

they are fine for any car. i got a resonator fitted and the exhaust note is much improved.

I also got this muffler last week.

It replaced my 3A Racing Canon. Canon system was 2.25", 1 long resonator into the canon. Stock headers/cat.

I changed it to Canon system was 2.25", 1 long resonator into the xforce s10 twin loop. Stock headers/cat.

The canon was crazy. Sounded really ****en good, loud at low revs, and absolutely mental at high revs. Sounded good because as you went through the rev range, it shifted from 100% exhaust tone, towards engine then 80% engine 20% exhaust tone at 8100.

The twin loop is awesome too. Still has the performance gains, but it's quiet. Really quiet. Not stock quiet, slightly louder than stock as everyone knows. When the music is off you know she's not stock, but turn the tunes on a little and you don't hear it. Still noticable VTEC note switch at 4400, and at 5k+ sounds awesome (and louder than stock).

Anyways, hope this helps some people.

Matt

shebangs get the JDM 4-1 headers and you'll notice it gets an angry type tone to the twinloop, sounds great
