Starting a 2002 Civic... BLOODY LOUD!

My mum has an as new 2002 Civic, it's perfect in every respect but when you turn the key the ignition sound is so loud it scared the **** out of me when i first heard it.. lol

It's not the engine/exhaust its the ignition sound.. its horrible! lol

Is this normal?

new cars should b pretty quiet when starting up, mayb should bring back for the dealers for a check up?

if its extremely loud i wouldnt be waiting for the next oil change. is it a rattle kind of loud or a grinding kind of loud. explain 'loud'?

like a shriech i guess... you know the electrical type noise of the spark plugs firing or whatevre it is? It's just exaggerated...

possibly bad starter motor? would wanna get that checked

Possibly the accessory belts?

you should only hear the ticking of the injectors and the fan belts at most.
Otherwise something is wrong and i'd get it checked out ASAP.
If it makes a screeching noise it could be a loose belt that just needs to be tightened up.
