yeah i did it when i did my conversion so its a little different
you will need a box, clutch set up including flywheel, clutch peddel, marster cylinder and prob a few little other things (consult your mechanic for exacts).
as far as i know you will need a manual computer as well.

When i called for prices it was about 3-4k all up but that was some time ago and there are prob more parts about now (alot of 3g's have been written off lately :( )
im guessing about 2k or so now for the swap.

Where do u live mate??? let us know where ya from and we can help you find a good shop.

what about for a 4th Gen,
i live in brisbane, and i'm interested in doing a manual conversion...would it be cheaper to sell my 4th gen and buy another 4th gen with manual?

Hoodlum, put the motor into the manual lude man, it would be heaps easyer, u will need to machine the flywheel or get a new clutch assembily save u changing it later.

changin auto to manual is jst a pain in the ass trust me.

Metro, i dont know any workshops in qld, but the parts for the 4th gen are not as rare as the 3g parts so u should be able to save there unless u wanna get a type S box or something (these r heaps of fun :) ). labour is the biggest cost with any kinda work on cars.

most half decent shops can do a manual conversion.

hope this helps you both out

mate give boss wreckers a call. they are a brisbane wrecker and should have a 5 speed box with everything you will need!
mounts, shifter and shifter cables, clutch master..etc
not sure if the cv will fit. i think u might need to change the half shaft!!!

i was their the other day. they had a fresh 4th gen with a 5 speed!
