The D series engine in the original CRX is the D16A8 similar to the EG Civic Si. Main difference is the ECU that the Si has (which gives it a bit more power).

the reason why i ask is, cause i bought an engine gearbox from a civic Si so i could use the gearbox in my car, and the gearbox from the civic is hydrolic and mine is mechnical. Did these engines come with hyro gearboxes?
there is a bar code on the gearbox which read :S20- 1019696
thanks

ECU is the only difference really - they are all ZCs with D series coding :)
I thought they were both 130bhp.
All D series gearboxes mount to the D series engines from what the yanks I know are saying.

Spoon, you are talking about the clutch being hydraulic. Please tell us exactly what car you have so we can help you out.

D series engines mate to D series gearboxes - but if you use the engine you may find you need to change the ECU.

They may have changed it between generations - I'd sugget getting a wiring schematic for eack and checking off each connection to the ECU -> ancillery/engine. If its the same, the plugs may have changed - in which case, get an auto-electrician to splice in the correct plugs rather than swap the whole loom.
Can anyone help out with the wiring schematics for each?
