check out autosalon mag a month or two ago. did a comparison of lots of 6x9's. Soundstream came out on top. But there were plenty of decent sets in there.

yes soundstream is good, but comes at a price.
personally i don't like 6x9's.
pioneer ones aren't too bad.. the yellow cone series you can get quite cheap.
thier not the best, but they ain't bad either.
jl is a great brand, probably pick jl's over pioneer.

i agree, but if you not running a sub a 6x9 will produce enough bass and i think em1 with 6x9 parcel shelf and is trouble to convert it to other size.

Audition as many as possible and choose the ones your ears like the most. I recommend the following brands:

Oz Audio
Boston
Phoenix Gold
Diamond
Hertz
Focal
Crossfire
Morel
Vibe

Just to start with... :)

just buy the fusion 6x9, when my friend had them running off my same amp i thought he had a sub in his car, and no there was no distortion im talking about clean vocals with tight midrange and clean bass.
u can never go wrong with fusion.

Let me reiterate what I was saying seeing as people have totally ignored it; let your ears be the judge. Listen too as many different brands as you can and choose based on what your ears like. :)

not always an accurate way becuse when u listen to different speakers at different places they're running off different amps, the the amp u run it off makes a big difference IMO.

I recommend Infinity for sound quality....i just heard them a few weeks ago at a car audio store...and man...they sounded awesome....

I also listened to some Bostons and Soundstream 6x9's, but they didn't offer as much clarity compared to the Infinity's.

also when u listen at the shops they are almost always enclosed thus sounds better.

I would also recommend kenwood 7x10 HQ, its like under $300 from a place in bankstown and doesnt require a box for it either. If you do go for 6x9 in the end, invest in a enclosure for em.

Go with pioneer, even the low range are awesome. They are about 89bux and they run beautiful even off the head unit, highly recommended.

SQ wise. unless they r blown or u want to remove them completely, stick with stock ur speakers and fade them at least 6 db. i suggest spend ur money on ur front stage is the best bet for SQ.

Go the infinity Kappa's. The best soundind 6x9 on the market. They have outstanding SQ and punch hard aswell. There isn't a better 6x9 out there.

my advice would be to not get 6x9s in the 1st place, waste of $$$ !
