Hi all,

I have a vibration felt through the steering wheel when braking at around 60kph and when travelling at about 100kph. It is there at other speeds but not as bad.
It gets much worse on a hot day when driving hard.
The car idles sweetly.

I checked the suspension bushes and they feel soft, but no cracks and they all feel the same.
There is no slop in the steering, so ball joints etc... OK

I had a new driveshaft fitted, the supplier said it was OK (after re-fitting the boot). But I can feel some play on the inner ends?

What should I check next, What could it be?

From a frustrated 1997 Civic driver
Regards,
Nick

if it only happens when u brake... u need to machine ur disc... cost around 40-60 bucks to machine a pair.....

ill say your front brake discs need machining too.
Other things MIGHT be wheel alignment + wheel balance out of whack too.

id say its actually wheel alignment, cos i had that problem before, but after doing an alignment, it reduced it by heaps :)

agreed. wheel alignments work wonders. get that done first (csots around $40) before u start spending more money as that may be the relatively cheap fix to a potential small problem.

Get your brake rotors machined with a wheel alignment and know that it should be fixed.
I would also check your radius rod bushes(the rod that connects lower control arm to the support under the radiator)
