just go into the yellow pages and ring up an alarm company. they will let you know whats needed.
Then just ring around for the best price

i have an '01 ATTS and the immobiliser is just the stock 5G immobiliser and yes its ok for just car (i am also insured with them)
You sure mate? casue the standard imobilser form honda is only 1 point.
:)
They other features but its still not an australian approved imobiliser

im not 100% but i spoke to just car and was told that whatever my car was imported into the country with (eg by honda) would be ok and that if it had a manufacturer's immobiliser etc it would be ok...
(albeit not a technical respone from the just car guy... but an answer nonetheless...)
saying that, im considering putting in an aftermarket alarm anyway, also so that my indicators blink when lock/unlock!
yeah just double check. Although the honda system is great. ON your just cars contract it says Australian standard immobiliser and the honda one is only a single point.
Its a technicallity but just depends how picky they want to get when your car gets stolen. I just got an alarm just in case anyway.

wat sorta alarm.. how much etc etc
can u get away with a decent alarm installed for 300? or more like 400/500?
also - i presume that an alarm has at least a 2 point immobiliser in it?
is that the idea?

$300 u can get rhino alarm installed. Nothing flash but it works and has the things u want. Check their website. I think I had a GT or GTS. The third highest in the series I think it was.
My current alarm is mongoose m60, which is similar features to the rhino (black wiring, remote learning etc etc) nothing flash but I think you can have addons, mine was $399 installed with lifetime warranty on installation.
Hope that gives u a general idea of how much youre looking to spend. Of course u can get cheaper alarms installed for cheaper but those are the 2 that Ive used. Had a flash point at one stage. Was kinda broken so went and changed it.
