my car has lifter noises when i rev it it get faster and a lil louder, pple also tell me i can loose power by them making noises and that i have to get them adjusted

is it tru?????

Obviously, any valvetrain noise is preventing your engine from running its best.

Having your valve clearances adjusted to factory specs(if you have factory camshafts) would be a good start.

Around 2 hours of professional labour to set clearances up correctly.

allow a few hours...since you need the engine to cool down to ambient tempreture before adjusting any clearances. But , also try a thicker oil to quiten the head down abit.

As it has to be dead cold, they will ask you to drop it off in the afternoon and will do the job early in the morning. Even residual engine heat can affect valve height clearances(0.01mm makes a difference)

My school of thought is use a thinner oil (not too extreme) to allow faster lubrication

i reckon u should spend 10 bux and by the engine flush fluid...
cheap thrill but it helps get rid of the gunk and bs that accumulates there in time...

you can adjust your power band slightly by having looser or tighter clearances
tight better top end looser better bottom end
