anyone know how to remove a side mirror on dc2. been having mega bad luck lately with wankers scraping/backing into my car in the last few weeks...to top it off, my brother was driving it yesterday when some dude who was busting to take a piss flung open his door as my brother was driving past, knocking off my left mirror.

anyway, the wire on the inside is unclipped. there remains a white thing that is attached on the door, that i'm guessing leads out to the wire that connects to the mirror....just wondering if anyone knows how i'm supposed to get this out so i can remove the whole mirror without it just dangling there. thanks

take of the black cap on the inside of the door and unscrew :)

its not hard..
if u cant get that black clip off.. its more than likely because u need to remove the door trim.. this is easy also, just a couple of screws.. from there its simple. You will be able to see exactly what u need to do. Just a screwdriver u should need.

You probably can get the black cover off without removing the trim with some force, but i prefer to do it carefully and remove the trim so i dont ruin the black cover.

This has been the same on both, my g/f daihatsu and my EG.

sorry guys maybe there was some misunderstanding. i took the little triangular cover thingy off already....already unclipped it....so that there's a wire hanging out of the door trim on the inside of the car if that makes sense. but the mirror is still attached to a wire on the OUTside...and i wanna know how to yank that out without cutting anything

it doesn't lok as though i need to remove any trim to do that?

you have to push the white clip part through the door to the other side, there are a few clips on the white thing, just squeeze it through.

If your mirror is still good hit me up with a pm, i have a mirror shell sitting around

thanks yeah that's what i meant. just doesn't seem like the white clip's gonna fit through no matter how hard i try...guess i gotta try harder!

the mirror is totally shattered :(

Push it through at an angle, or you can just cut the plug off.

If the mirror is toast then that plug is alos useless to you.

shame its not the drivers side, i got a spare one of those too.
