hey everyone,
I have a civic 94 vti hatch, ive just finished installing a skunk2 intake manifold and i think the car is running heaps lean according to the a/f meter...

During the install i got the injectors cleaned out and everythings put back to where it should be...

should i be worried that the car is running lean or is it best to get it tuned or leave it???

what can i do to make it even again...like not lean...??

any help would be great thanx..

did u reset ur ECU when u installed ur skunk?

its good practise to always reset a ECU once any performance mods are done

because the ECU basically "learns" over time what settings ur car should run. one of them being air fuel ratio

after replacing the manifold did you check if the sensors are reconnected and that they are placed right...

what are u using to measure A/F ? and what are the exact readings.

A/F has nothing to do with leaks in ur intake manifold and if u reinstalled anything incorrectly, it wouldnt work fullstop. only thing which can cause incorrect readings are exhaust manifold leaks pre-o2 sensor :P

its probably because of the xtra airflow and the ecu isnt mapped to compensate.

That's strange. I have a Skunk2 intake manifold for my EM1 and the A/F readings bounces from Stoic to Rich most of the time. Even on idle, the needle bounce sits at lean for a second then bounce to Stoic. I think that's good. And I'm using a stock ECU and didn't reset it after I have installed the manifold.

Is that healthy?
