Been lurking in this place for a little while but I now feel like a legitimate member. Just picked up a 2003 DC5 Luxury Teg. Yah for me. :D Having upgraded from a 96 Magna I dont think I need to say how much of a nicer ride it is.

My query is that I was aware it had been in a light front end collision. I know this sounds bad straight away, but it was inspected by stateroads (well worth the money) & confirmed it was superficial damage. Infact it still has the original headlights which was reassuring. Now when they did what ever they had to do they have placed the number plate across the front of the radiator, instead of on the bumper bar.

It didnt occur to me until I got home that this may cause overheating issues. I dont have any plans for mods but was wondering if this should be a concern? I'm hoping to take it for a good run over chrissy & see if there are any issues but would appreciate your thoughts in the meantime.

Thanks

shuoldnt be much of an issue its only a number plate which is pretty tiny would start to worry when you take it to the track but if and only then
good choice on the upgrade btw

All should be well matey, alot of cars have their number plates placed there, just to avoid damaging the bumper bar. By the way, what an awesome upgrade from a mitsush|ty haha

Congratz on your purchase...i too own a similar car to yours, in the same colour.

about your numberplate, your radiator is ALWAYS blocked anyway...
that thing infront is the air conditioning unit, which gets pelted with stones and what not all the time anyway it will not cause any problems whatsoever

i've always wanted to put my numberplate there but a few things prevent me from doing that
1. if i remove the current front numberplate mounting bracket, i will see a hole
2. my numberplate is too big

anyway, you can sleep safely at night now

Thanks for the comments. Took it for a little run last night & I cant believe how well it holds the road. I can only compare it to my previous car but theres really no comparison. The magna used to be quite skittish on corners, actually just skittish in general, but the Teg feels rock solid.

Sorry I'm rambling, I'm sure you guys know all this already :)

Fair enough. I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Thanks.
