would same mods as a DC5R apply to a DC5 LUX,
What is the main diffrence between the K20 R and K20 LUX????
apart from power out put.
TypeR cams would obviously bump up the power of the LUX right???

two engines are totally different
if you have an auto, forget about doing power mods
most you can do with auto dc5 is vafc2, intake, header, cat, exhuast

the k20a3 engine which is in the base dc5 with 118kw doesn't have the lifting VTEC...
the vtec point is at 2,200rpm for economical reasons

the k20a2 in the DC5R and the k20z1 in the DC5 Type S have different cams to the base model

just go turbo if you're serious about modifying the base dc5

there is no cams made for the k20a3
i have a 2002 Special Edition Integra in Pearl White, auto..
<---my car

i have done almost everything you can do to an auto dc5 except getting the Hondata reflash for the auto that is only available for USA residents

if you have a manual base dc5 then there's a little bit more hope

my current mods list are as follows

cheapo short ram intake
Australian DC5R header and cat
Fujitsubo Powergetter exhaust
Mugen sport suspension
spoon front and rear strut bar
spoon rear lower tie bar
whiteline rear 22mm sway bar
....um yeah and a few other things.

nope...
auto dc5 are slow
i did mid 16s

stock DC5R does low-mid 15s
maybe high 14s if you get a perfect run

what time would your DC5 get at the drags 14s???

what's the obsession with drags? if you're looking for a quick car in a straight line, you've purchased the wrong car...

i was just asking a question.
i imagine insurance is a lot cheaper for a LUX than the ITR.
i thought i might upgrade my GSI later this year but it sounds like the GSi has more potential from what i can gather.
and YES i wanna drag my car, and i like been the underdog thats why i choose the lower spec cars just more fun to to win with one thats all.
i love the look of the DC5s thats all

the manual DC5 base model has a fair bit of potential

the GSi has its limits too...
a k20a3 has heaps of potential...just look at some of the tuning garage in the USA...
supercharged, turbocharged, Raz custom cams...
the cams are still under development but supercharger and turbo are both available for the k20a3

ummm wat u mean hondas are crap in straight line.. how bout u learn how to mod a honda in the right way.. something australia lacks knowledge in.. i hate how its so nissan based over here.. but i guess it does suck how australia has all their pathetic emission laws so our hondas are wayyy slower.. how bout u go to www.honda-tech.com.. u'll learn aloot about the american hondas.. they are just craaazyyy.. like a mid mounted rwd h22a integra :O :p.. by the way, stock dc5r's do mid to high 14s.. With a decent driver..

i have no doubt there are many high powered, very fast in a straight line Honda's in the USA...and i know of JDM Yard and their k20 EG Civic with quad throttle bodies...but not many people will go down that extensive modification path...

Honda in America compared to Australia is totally different...there's a huge following of Honda in America...there's a whole industry just based around Hondas

im sure they have their reasons.. isnt it more impressive to see an n/a car pulling crazy times like 10s or 11s?? the fastest n/a honda ive ever heard of is a dc5r that pulls 9.4.. isnt that more impressive to hear about that than any rotary or turbo'd engine
