Im getting sick and tired if the old d16y4. I just wanna know if its worth swapping this for a ZC?? I know, i know, just get a b16a, but i dnt really have cash for a conversion like that, plus, if i get the zc i can use the current g/box cause parts are interchangable. Please correct me if im wrong and please help. Thanks

EK4 has the b16a2 engine...you must be talkign of the EK1 ?
And , AFAIK it is illegal to install an older engine into a car chassis's build date.

errr....its illegal isnt it? cos the zc is out from an earlier model eg and the d16y4 are found in the 96-00 eks...not worth it, the d16y4 isnt too bad, just less torque, and next time, its an EK1, u gave me a heart attack thinking ur gona change the engine from EK4 b16a to the d16a8.

Well, im thinking of sticking to it, either y8 head, zc pistons, obdII to OBDI harness, P28 w/uberdata and a few more extras for an atmo setup or for an FI setup the same stuff but with vitara pistons, t25, injectors fuel pump, etc. Insurance is the main reason y im veiring more to the atmo side, i just wanna bit more curry thats all!!
I dont think you should be able to have this as a username being that you are NOT in any way associated with VTEChnique.. it is misleading.

yeah we've had a conversation on this before and I hadnt seen you around so I thought you must have re-registered with a new username.
I DID look at your join-date.. but you see VTEChnique was founded in 2000/2001.. Is up to you bro - is just my request as president of the VTEChnique club.

different spelling so i fail to see any association.
Both clever plays on wording...you can BOTH have a lollipop ok :D Keep the chit chat to pm thanks guys.
Anyway ,relative to initial question - what is your plan down the track ? Keep the car for as long as you can or ? Id be lookign at either an engine conversion , or sell your car and buy something with a B series stock.

Keep the car as long as I can. I have done alotta research on an atmo powerup for my y4, and yes, all that stuff mentioned in my vbgarage can fit!!! The rods r shorter than the d16s are, the vitara pistons comp height is also shorter allowing me to fit the d17 crank!! But Im not too sure about this setup now, Im thinking of just sticking in ZC or D15 pistons and getting the y8 head and ecu and see how that goes!!
where ohh where would we be without Benjamin ? I dont know how ozH got along at all before he came along !!
