yer...i recently bought a whiteline rear sway/tiebar for my ek4

after a very hard days work i finally set it all up without any real tools at all lol...(don't ask me how)

okay picture this...
theres a smile on my face as i turn the key...

reverse off the driveway...*TAP TAP CLUNK*
"WHAT THE !@#!"

get out of my car...check all the swaybar fittings...solid as...mmk...hmm
then i look carefully at the muffler...
to my horror (ARRGHHH) the pipe is sitting about 1mm away from the new swaybar mount...basically small bumps or right turns cause the pipe to smack into the mount causing that massively annoying sound

mechanically wise...its all perfect...(swaybars are mass awesome btw)
but i was wondering whats the best thing i can do...
i've got a few options...
1) get a new compatible muffler but i'd rather not coz i really like the tone of my rsr muffler
2) get the piping modified (where i may as well slap on a catback)
3) place some heat resistant spongy material between the exhaust and the swaybar mount to cushion the impact...problem is i have no idea what to use that won't either melt or be flammable

any input is most welcome

if its the adjustable item , maybe try putting it on the alternate "thickness" setting - see if that clears the piping. Or you can use a "higher" rubber hanger ( to hold the muffler firmer and higher above the swaybar)
Otherwise , you have answered your own question. Resort to one of the above ideas...

i think option 2 is the most suitable as you get to keep your muffler and will gain from the addition of a cat-back system
