NOOOO!!, i was washing my vtir yesterday and i realised there was this wierd green **** growing inside my left taillight! :thumbdwn:

its probably because a little water goes into it when i wash it, which makes it grow. but how do i get it out!! GRRr :!: :( i looked '&*%&' i got custom green tailights lol

how do i fix this instead of getting a new tailight? can i rip it apart? is it possible?

heres the pic i took off my phone! :!:

its moisture buildup in there yeah ? afaik , you can drill small holes in the bottom of the light to let out water buildup or perhaps somehow install some mositure absorbing material in the bottom somehow ( pellets or those little silica bags)

lol ~ just wear a face mask and dont breathe in too much of its spores. Im sure u can take the tail lights apart - wait for someone who knows on how to rectify this situation.

find where you change the globe, and undo it and have a look in there, you can probably get to the area that way without having to pull the whole thing apart cos i believe lights are sealed to stop moisture getting it so if you pull it completely apart you might end up with a bigger problem.
then just put something in there to absorb the moisture. silicone bags that ben suggested is not a bad idea or some cotton wool balls maybe.

take the lights off
put some **** hot boilin water in it to kill all the fungus! ..(careful they might grow on ur hands if u get any on there)
and.. last of all put it on a clothesline in the hot sun, facing the holes down!

I did this, minus the boilin water.. to my parker lights and worked a treat.

thats probly trhe best idea....but if you do do that afterwards......get a power drill....attach the smallest head and drill 2 or 3 little holes near the bottom of the light......this will let the water run out every time you weash it or ot rains as i have the same problem with my taillight....which saves your boot from flooding and rust getting everywhere

where abouts on the light man? i dont want to drill unnecessary holes in the wrong place.

you cant even see them to be honest....but you drill just a tiny hole on the bit of the lights that curves in at the very bottom of the part you can see before it folds into the rear bar. All it is is a hole and it will keep letting the water out......

u could try taking it out an putting something like exit mould in there then flush it out with water but 2 major points to consider are first check that the chemical isnt goin to stain or bleach your lights an secondly how you goin to dry it out

ok, ill give that a go!.. and ill leave the headlight in this hot summer sun, or ill stick a hair drier or something to evaporate the mosture!

better watch the hair dryer u could put a little metho in to mix wuth the water residue then pour it all out an alchohol evaporates faster than water but not sure what all this is goin to do to your lights probbly send em pink

i rekkon ehen youre gonna at home for a couple of hours you take the light housing off the car, soak it in a mixture of wearm water and soap/bleach/exit mould for long enough....then sit it with the globe holes facing down and let it dry off.......but there is always gonna be some residual water drops....unless you drill holes....trust me been thru this before....had my car flooded cos of a taillight
