Subs and amps with Stock headunit?

Hey guys wwas wonder can you hook up Rcas to a stock honda headunit? Ive got a prelude with stock headunit with chnager. Was kinda hoping to keep this and just put in some doof doof from my old car.

you can buy a speaker to rca converter - should be like 25 bux from strathfield or jaycar or places like that

yeh then just run the wires on the rca converter onto your speaker wires..easy do it yaself job just make sure you solder the wires really good then tape over them...be mindfull though that it wont be as good as a headunit wif rca preouts

yeah i aint going to be changing the speakers or nothing... Just thought id throw in my old sob and amp combo. Got a headunit too but it doesnt really go with the dash.

yea i remember there was DIY in a autosalon mag
where they tap into a speaker wire n all
they did it for a euro i fink

Many amplifiers also have high (speaker line) level inputs too. Check your amp. It might remove the need for you to buy a convertor. :)
