My upper radiator hose ruptured the other day. I noticed when i heard a hissing sound when I came to a stop and it was spraying out coolant when i poped the hood.

I drove around looking for a replacement and apparently there were none and they couldn't match it up until i took it off... and i didn't have any tools to take it off... and they said there was no way of sealing it... so i tried to make it home until my car went over 50% heat towards 70% so i pulled over and bandaged it will eltrotape and filled up the coolant and got it home.

The upper coolant hose cost $109 from repco... who didn't have any in stock so i replaced it with a r31 hose for $18... it was leaking still leaking until i adjusted and tightened the clamps.

So should i eventually change it back to the OEM honda hose? Or are there any other better aftermarket alternatives?

Does anyone know a cheap fitting lower radiator hose? as i want to change it and do a coolant flush.

i don't think a radiator hose will really affect any performance, as long as it works, it works! you won't gain much more than thinking to yourself "i've no longer got a nissan part in my honda"

yeh i think i'm gonna replace it with the OEM eventually.... cuz its making funny noises... and vibrates like crazy when the fan is on... and the reserve has moved from max to min levels already... so it mite still be leaking...

I've seen some after market ones like Spoon or Greddy or cheap ones like OBX... but can't find any avalible to AU... does anyone know where i can get them?

but i guess it was ok for a temp as it kept my car at normal operating temps.

is it normal that the engine bay has a hot metal smell when you stop the car?

I want to know where we can get those blue Spoon Hoses made from Silicone. They're expensive, but last for ages.... longer than OEM anyway.
I thought they might reduce under-bonnet temps....But they don't.
