Hey peeps
Just wondering if an Apexi power intake is good for a dc2r? wat are the advantages and disadvantages? (pros and cons)

Also what are the alternatives you guys would reccomend?

Cheers

Mugen.

Not really an alternative price wise, but the best intake for the DC2R.

Do u think the apexi air filter can fix on to the DC2 original air box?

It will fit in, but it is a little tight thou. I got 1 in my vtir and it works pretty well, assuming the air box is the same size, which im pretty sure it is.

mugen intake = no induction roar hahahaha.... too smooth for my liking... but if it creates the HP then who am i to argue with it?? I have a power intake and i love it... no shield... and it's still good at launch....

I dont know if it actually did increased the performance, but 1 thing for sure is it sounds beautiful, much deeper and richer sound than the standard air fielter. And you can hear very clearly when the vtec kicks in.

so are you able to put the air box cover back on after you fit the pod.... or any pod in that case? ie. spoon?

Yeah i can put the cover back on no problems(the first image is with the cover on and all 3 screws tight), everything works out just right.
If you are looking at getting a spoon then it is made to fit in integra's airbox so it will be just like ur stock air filter.

if your talking about just the apex-i filter.
the apex-i is one of the best out there.

but for the actual intakes, the mugen is the king. haha.

Different filters perform differently on different cars, that article is only good if you have a skyline.....

So for value for money and performance
apexi pod filter is it worth the money or is a K&N better?
apexi .. rough price now days?

there's no apexi drop in for dc2

only a apexi kit which is an exposed pod

Why bother with apexi? Just get a knn

Filter flow tests conducted in japan rated the KNN air filter to have the most flow on top of apexi and hks

Only way to make good power is via an AEM style CAI though you lose throttle response and low - mid range grunt

Best type of intake is mos def mugen style short ram intake with cold air induction feed as you dont lose throttle response and have a lot more mid to low end grunt and significant top end gains

Just route a cold air duct to stock airbox or open filter with heat shield and you should be good

Get a js racing from tanghy (great seller) ... fabricate a cold air duct and heat shield for it tho... js racing net more gains than an AEM, comptech, open filter, stock box.. i vote it as the 2nd best intake after the mugen

cheers
