Hello. I have a civic 90 D16A9 engine, ED7.
in this morning when i put engine start, it will run but stop immediately.
the yellow ligth engine its appear and i check code trouble.
is 4 and 8 code.
what´s happen?
Distributor bad? or sensors? :(

code 4: CKP - crank position sensor
code 8: TDC - top dead centre sensor

when u turn ur engine on does the engine try to "kick" over?

Hello incoming.
im portuguese and my inglish is bad.
engine try to Kick over ????
i dont understand.
my engine up on 1200 rpm + - and shutdown.

hmmm so it does turn on, but at 1200rpm the engine dies?

when i turn the key, the engine start at 1200 rpm, but down to 0 and dies. :(

a nother point......the distributor make noise like a mouse inside :(
i gone a change a new distributor. thanks.

distributors aren't cheap so i would find out what the problem is before changing things that ur not sure are causing the problem yet

your distributor is broken, the top bearing has failed, causing the pickups to hit the sensors and damaging the sensors.

you need to replace your distributor

your loom is OK

thks ECU MAN and all. i try find a new distributor for my engine.
only D16A9 distributor right???? D16A8 . . etc etc etc dont work in my engine?

I agree with ECU-MAN, I had the same problem in my car a few days ago.

There should be a letters and numbers on the distributor, its model number.
For example mine has TD42U marked on it.
Just make sure the new distributor you fit has the same model number and the wiring plugs are the same.

in Honda i have sale the car to by a distributor hihihih
