Ok here's the thing, i got engine rebuilt a couple of months ago now, its completely run in and run's pretty well, any way i'm a little worried about a few things.. first thing is when i start my car it feels a little rough kicking over, but only for like 2 seconds while its starting up type of thing, it idles fine and stuff once started just starting it feels a little rough.. second problem is i blow a **** load of smoke when i am on vtec, but nothing when driving off vtec.. if i fill up the oil in my car it takes roughly 2 - 3 weeks to burn enough so its no longer on the dip stick.. I'm running a thick oil 10 - 50 or 15 - 50 can't remember exactly.. My exhaust is always black and i have to constantly clean it off.. I'm just pissed coz i only got the rebuild to stop the engine burning oil in the first place.. now it seems like its going through even more than it was before :thumbdwn: .. That's basically all my worries about it for now.. My engine has had the following done to it in the rebuild just to maybe help ya's out..

JDM B18C from 1998 GSR
Bored out to 1.957
Forged Arias Pistons (flat top)
Compression of 11:1
very mild port and polish (just smoothed it)
whole bottom end has been balanced and strengthened pretty much..
oh and i'm running the engine with a b16a ecu haha

If you need more info on specific things just ask in reply ugh too lazy to look for the list of things done haha..
So yeah any idea's on what the problem / problems could be please let me know..

The car is running rich.

Higher compression requires less fuel. The B16 ECU is supplying too much fuel.
Take it to a dyno to prove the fact.

Secondly, get it tuned.

So would changing my ecu / getting current one chipped sort out alot of the smoke / losing oil problem? If yes then that's a good reason for getting ecu sorted out (parents will have to pay for it coz i'm broke and they won't do it unless its necessary) plus i don't really wanna have to change my ecu unless it definately will stop alot of the oil burn... Just don't have the money.. :(

nope

blow by is blow by

take it back to your engine rebuilder.

and dont run it anymore to the point when there is no more oil coming up on the dipstick.
if your running with such a small amount of oil in your engine theres gonna be damage

I am thinking you have been running the car rich since the rebuild, and have thus prevented proper ring seal.

Who did the rebuild? Who honed the bores? What are the piston/bore clearances?

Yep engine builders worst nightmare running in an engine rich, and aries pistons need to be run lean as they run clearance's on the high side for a Honda engine.b18cfreak PM me I am local in the Hawkesbury area if you need any help.

Joe from Hi Comp Performance over in minchinbury was who did the rebuild, when we first ran the car on his dyno for the initial run in process he had a graph that showed us how the car was running air/fuel wise and anyway i have a print out of numbers, sorry its not infront of me but you'll prolly know what i'm talking about.. the numbers stayed pretty well around 14.4 when keeping revconstant, when put under load it slowly decreased hitting a lowest 12.2 i think from memory.. Joe said basically that that meant the ecu was handling the mods and was running the motor fine..
any way a machine shop did the block and I don't have the measurements for the clearances...

hmmm.. i'm just a little pee'd off because i went to him and said i was only getting the rebuild to stop the thing from burning oil and to freshen it up.. and he assured me it would be fine.. :(

Anyways by the looks of it i'm going to have to get this ecu sorted out.. i don't really have much money to spend so what do you guys suggest?

Thank you all again for the help
