trying to wire up my carby to efi conversion and am having a problem with wiring the main relay

this is what the relay looks like

http://www.ozhonda.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=2/1329H050-med.jpg

but the numbers on the relay dont correspond to the schematic

http://b16a2.kicks-ass.net/temp/gsrwiring1.gif

it's the right diagram, john (ecu-man) sent it to me.

i'm just confused because on the relay - number 8 has a wire coming out of it but on the diagram there is no number 8?

so how should i wire this?

so for example would i ground location 2 on the main relay (which corresponds to number 3 on the diagram) or do i find number 3 on the main relay and ground that

ill figure out the relay show in the 1st pic for you to the schematic, and give you some info on what goes where,

it seems on the schematic its got a pin 4
if you look at the relay there is no pin 4

Give me some time. Ill get back to you.

yeah thats exactly what i mean

thanks man, lemme know

another question - some of the pins have two wires coming out of them...what am i spose to do with both of them?

surely ecu-man isn't the only person who can understand the schematic?

ok

Iv done some testing
this is what I found

on the left is the pin number of the relay in the schematic = on the right is the pin number of the relay in the picture in the 1st pic

1 = 8 ECU Pin A7 FLR 1 ( - triger from ecu )
2 = 6 ECU Pin B9 STS ( +12 triger from IGN Switch )
3 = 2 ECU A23, A24 PG1, PG2 GND
4 = 7 Fuel Pump ( +12v )
5 = 5 IG1 ignition switch pos II ( +12v )
6 = 3 ECU A25, B1, IGP1, IGP2 ( ecu Ignition +12v )
7 = 1 Batt ( +12v )
8 = 4 N/A

remember this info is only a guide, it could be wrong, If anyone proves it to be wrong please let me know. If you prove it to be right, also let me know.

I tested a relay on the bench with this config and it worked.

i was told (and this is how i have it wired at the moment) that pin 5 and 6 on the relay were the other way around...

ie. pin 5 = ECU Pin B9 STS ( +12 triger from IGN Switch )
and pin 6 = IG1 ignition switch pos II ( +12v )

if u were right and he was wrong - would it matter much?

i'm assuming not because when i start the car they will both be getting a 12v source

BTW thanks heaps for ur help mate

+rep again

yes it would matter.

this could be the cause of your relay chatter

hmm, ok i'll swap them over tomorrow and will let you know how it goes...
