AFAIK the fuel filters that u buy from honda look something like this

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr?i=wMzg3OTM2czQxM2RmZDMxeTU0MQ%3D% 3D

my question/problem is - at the bottom (where fuel goes in) the line going directly to the filter is a hardline (not the rubber one)

what sort of filter should i get to suit my conversion because for me, that line will be a rubber line... and i wont be able to screw it in or tighten it in anyway

can i just use a regular inline filter?

do all honda efi filters use a hardline for the fuel line going into the filter?

ok thanks for that, so i'm under the assumption that everyone who has converted from carby to efi have installed an new metal line?

or is there some other way to install a fuel filter?

u have 2 options.
1) get a hardline made up. pirtek or any hydrolic shop can do it.
2) get an adapter (from above shop/'gas and weld/any place which sells airtool accessories) that screws into the bottom and then coverts to a nipple so you can clamp a hose onto it.

ok so if i go for option 2 - and clamp a hose to it, the fuel pressure wont blow it off will it?

providing i clamp it on securely and do it all properly.

you must ask for and use proper "EFI fuel hose" and "EFI fuel hose clamps"

i have just completed option 2, and have run above 3 inches of high press. efi hose the the main fuel line, not a drop so far. works fine

no, proper fuel lines and clamps will hold the pressure no worrys. alot of cars come with this setup stock.

just a question to clarify - when converting to efi, am i ok to keep the metal lines that run under the car for fuel?

or would i have to change over the metal fuel pipes and put in efi fuel pipes?

just getting mixed opinions on that issue...

as others have said, just using fuel hose and a clamp should be fine.

my old nissan was like that stock and was running a 500hp pump.
eg of filter:

so it might be wise to get a different cars filter?

honda fuel filters annoy me :p

I used EFI hose from the factory barbed fitting, onto a RYCO Z201 EFI fuel filter. This EFI filter was not designed for Honda but is a cheap 8 micron filter from the R32/33/34 GTR Skylines. I believe Honda filters are rated at 10 microns... anyone confirm that?
Used all EFI fuel clamps to secure it in place.
Connecting the EFI filter to the fuel rail was a case of cutting of the fitting that should have went into the Honda filter and using a EFI clamp to secure to filter.
