i think they're the main sites you listed, if you can't find them on there, then another thing would be to actually go to a few honda dealers, some second hand car yards, and check the newspapers etc... you could also try some car forums such as performanceforums and so on.

OOPS!! Sorry ppl - didn't even give the guy a chance. Well that's what you get when you don't read ones post! Once again very sorry - I am officially a dumbarse.

Anywho - where are you from? I know of 2, possibly 3 for sale in Melbourne... And have you given drive.com.au/ a go? There maybe one in there...

But good luck dude, EM1's are hard to find.

Yeah i have figured out now just how difficult is to find one of them..

Other forums sounds like a good idea!(might get in trouble for saying that  ) anyone know of any where i might find the car i want.

Skoota: unforunately I am in sydney... :( I have brought cars from interstate before but it was too much hassle.

the build quality really is quit sh1t! i have one. although i don't really push my car ard corners that much (cos the seats r quite big and i just float ard the seat left to right when i do), but the chassis feels a bit weak. when i turn up driveways and stuff, i get creaks everywhere. sure it's sexy and got the b16a, but hmmm...i think go for the ITR for a few grand more.
i'm not the only one with this type of prob but i think it's not that common either... *sigh* it shits me!

Um....do you reckon thats why some people are selling their vtir coupes?

I just sold my Honda CRX del sol. part of reason why i sold cause of what you described.

VTi-R coupes are generally quite hard to find cos they were sold for only a year and in limited numbers - pls. correct me if I'm wrong.

As for build quality, I don't have much to complain about apart from a squeaky rear seat that was fixed w/o much complications.

Having said that, I do expect Honda's 'made in japan' to be of slightly higher build quality though, but that's just me being biased!

I have a honda integra vtir, and it squeaks as well... meh... you get over it. I don't really notice it much though... but that could be because my music is being played a bit loud

please note that the vtir coupes are made in america.

Nice one Taxi-R - was about to say that. Yes they are US made and designed? Anywho, The VTi-R coupes were made in '99 and continued in '00. So two years. But they are VERY hard to get a hold of.

PM replied to anthony.

There is a guy in here who has a balck ITR and a mate selling his EM1 in Boxhill - i hope he's reading this so he can contact you.

So what's your point? That the QC they have in the US is inferior to that of Japan?

there was no hidden point in that message. i was merely stating the fac that is was made in america. BUT,

it is known to all that the batch of vtir coupes had a bad build quality. ok, let's maybe tone it down and not say bad, but i would maybe say it's a bit tacky. i think it's towards the rear passenger area maybe where the seat beat rests for the rear (if i remember correcctly), there's a portion of plastic that just rests on top of another. it's not even stuck on or secured. not a big issue but still i think it's tacky.

i read back then that although it was mad ein the states, japan had alot of say into it also. so yeah...

and if u r from the states or u think i am stereotyping that sh1t that comes outta the states is sh1t, u have misunderstood me. it's just that the hatch build quality (made in japan) was very good. no tackiness.

ive had 2 hondas.. if u lower your honda it would definity creak..

creaking is there for a purpose,.. it allows your chasis to flex.. if your chaisis isnt goin to creak it is goin to crack.. and what would u want.

EM1's arent the best made civics around .. i have one..
They are nevertheless proabably to me the best looking car..
Wiht a little work they are really good cars to get..

really depends on what u want..

so I've got an EM1 civic vtir coupe. what's the disadvantage of owning and driving one of these compared to other civics?

ian

Because they were made in the USofA

I've heard that the quality control in the USA is of good standard equalling, if not better than that of Japanese specs. :D

Ummm... Teg will win hands down I think. About the same weight and a B16A2 vs. B18???? No brainer to me. I may be a little biased as I will be driving a tegg very sooooon!!!! :D YAY FOR MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
