type R intake manifold Q

Hey guys.

hopefully one of you guys know, whats the diameter of the entry to the integra type r Intake manifold. Also, is there anyone that bores them out to a larger diameter, just because I'm not really confident with the die grinder yet. Why I am asking this is because I am looking to purchase a bigger throttle body for my teg, and it is made in three sizes. I thought if I can I will get the biggest one I can, but some matching with the intake manifold might be required to get a bit less restriction happening.

PS the TB i am looking at getting is 74mm and tapers into 72mm on the IM side.

i need sumone to bore my intakes of the manifold so it goes with the 62mm throttle i got atm...

I got 2 itr's mani's and 1 sits at 63mm and the other at 65mm. But they get a little bit narrower going in so if you bore it out to the 74mm, it still will drop to the narrowest measurement, just not all at once.

but as well as increasing the diameter of the mouth of the mani, why couldnt you open up the inside of the manifold to increase the volume as well? Would extrude honing be worthwile to get this done? Can they open up to a pre determined size? ie. if i said i want the manifold opened up to 72mm at the mouth and the 5mm taken off the walls can they do that or is that a bit much to ask?

There's no such thing as too big!! Ya the gains are small but when you're talking 5 hp for a car with 100 hp that's a 5% gain. Now his car is a bit higher with less of a gain but it's all relitive. If you have a ITR get in to a skunk mani or a Edelbrock mani and it's already bored out for you. They cost about 200-400 USD and will get you your gains. If you are going NA then get the Edelbrock Performer X mani or the Skunk mani. If you are going F.I. get the Edelbrock Victor X mani. You could sell the ITR mani's for about as much as a new mani costs. The kids here in the U.S. love their ITR shit! You can find a few willing to pay a bit for it!
