hey guys
well i got my Greddy EVO2 exhaust today. had to order it from the states as its not sold locally here in australia. took a risk of buying something online from a site other than ebay and it payed off. very happy with the trader and the freight company. :D
if only aftermarket support was as strong here as it is in the states for the TSX. *sigh* ahh well. i'll be def. ordering from them again.
its at my house. will take photos of it when i get home. cant wait to put it on!!! :D :D :D

here are some pics of cccoltsicehockeys and tsxondubs pics from tsx.acurazine.com

SiReal

just looking at how the bits were packed in the box. why are they just "thrown" in? i would've thought it'd have been strategically packed to avoid movage.

stephen8512
07-01-2006, 09:33 PM
SiReal, its bloody heavy!! if u wanted to move those pieces, it would take some force.
and since the box cramps up the pieces, it has hardly any room to move anyway
and it was stuffed with those brown paper things

Sorry I don't think that is right. I know it is sad but once upon a time I read all those Standards Information Bulletins on the Vicroads website - you are asking to be defected by tinting the tails.

Would be interesting to know the weight of the whole system compare to the stock one when you have taken it out. Also, a dyno before and after. It should sound nice, especially when VTEC kicks in.

well, after 4 long weeks of waiting, waiting and waiting, the GREDDY EVO2 exhaust is finally installed!
i cannto believe how QUIET this is when its on idle!!! its EXACTLY the same as stock when ur inside the cabin!
but man......when u give it some, does it roar!......it roars up to 5000rpm then from 5000rpm onwards, the INJEN intake seems to come in and drown out the exhaust sound.
does not sound loud, very smooth and very very very very sexy! :D

From inside the cabin

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS
Well, the sheer size of it is beefy as you can tell from these photos. 4.5" tips!!!!! you can literally fit your whole fist in the tips and theres still room!!!! At idle when u first turn on the car, in cabin sounds VERY close to stock. very quiet
when it wants to be but when u punch it, boy does it roar!

its very much like the injen if u think about it. the INJEN CAI is loud when u bang it @ WOT but can be very quiet when it wants to be (for all those with INJEN and even K&N Typhoon CAI's will know what im talkin about)
Same deal with the GREDDY EVO2. Quiet, but @ WOT, it sounds very nice. not farty, just a nice deep rumble.

When @ WOT however, the sounds of the exhaust gets drowned out by the CAI @ 4500-5000rpm. The CAI is actually louder than the exhaust at the higher rev ranges. :D so best of both worlds really. Lower rev ranges u have the nice deep sound of the exhaust while at the higher rev ranges and VTEC, the INJEN CAI does its job very nicely.

Overall, i think this is a very very good exhaust. Its made by GREDDY so u know its quality. Nothing cheap like lukey or watever. Plus its JDM.
I recommend the FUJITSUBO Legalis R if u want it a bit quieter than mine, but so far, I love this exhaust.
I wouldnt recommend this exhaust for power gains. While there are some gains, its pretty heavy and it doesnt have as much gains as, say, an amuse titanium single exhaust straight thru.

Well, thats my impressions of this exhaust. First GREDDY EVO2 owner for the euro. keep on VTECCIN y0!!! :D

I noticed that you reduced the audio quality to keep the size down. Why don't you compress your audio stream into mp3, and your video to xvid? I did that to your 2nd vid and the file size dropped to 1.7MB with the exact same quality. If you don't know how to compress it, pass me the original clip and I'll do it for you. You can pass me the vid through msn. :)

stephen8512

they were just straight from the digicam
no compression work at all

Thanks for sharing, nice job.

Did the whole Greddy system fit straight into existing factory hangers or did you have to play around with it to fit?

stephen8512
11-02-2006, 07:46 PM
nope
straight bolt on

11-02-2006, 08:02 PM

11-02-2006, 08:47 PM
how much did it cost for you to install it?

stephen8512
11-02-2006, 09:14 PM
120. which is pretty good considering that if iw anted to DIY it, the car jack stands were 30 bucks a pair (needed 2 pairs so 60 bucks) and the trolley jack cost 45 bucks.....
i get a warranty on their installation too

11-02-2006, 09:19 PM

Thanks for the great job on the videos  .

How long did it take to get to Aust from TSX parts?

Did you choose express delivery or std?

Did it cost $1200 US or Aust, including shipping?

stephen8512
13-02-2006, 11:21 PM
1200 including everying. shipping and for the exhaust
www.tsxparts.com
talk to a guy called NORM. he'll sort u out.

Can you confirm the exact Greddy product number off the box for the EVO 2 system.

Also did TSX Parts provide an invoice with delivery of the goods and what if any Aust tax's did you have to pay to upon delivery in Aust for the EVO 2?

Thanks for your assistance.
