This is copy and paste from e-bay.
stainless steal no way. false description. shady welding. not to be trusted!!

Now I work in a business that, well, customers are important, but if I ever heard ANYONE talking to customers like that, I would fire my staff immediately...
oh my god.
Now, my opinion doesn't really offer much support, but apart from SS Auto Chrome, I've never seen any manifold ever have a brace on it.
Ever.

I actually doubt that it is SSAC. The collector design isn't consistent with how ssac does theirs.
That said, the collector design on the toyota ones are actually, dare I say it..., worse then the ssac. And frankly, if they can't do something like that even remotely right and they use the same, low quality bracing, I'm sure the quality isn't any better. It looks to me like a copy of the ssac design.

what ever brand it is it is of low quality .... all the shit mani's have that stupid bace on them indicating that the steel used in manufacturing it is thin as and will bend under heat. welds also look pretty shotty.
in my opinion a regular peice of crap that no one should sell or buy!
the collector has been retroffited to fit another turbo flange, thats why i still think its still ssac at heart. Ive seen quality stainless steel manifolds that look the same (shiney), but they all have no bracing and the metal was nice and thick. The welds looked silimiar though. Collectors and designs are totoally different though.
bracing: i had the same idea. why do u need bracing if its not cracked before?

the brace on the flange is a dead give away. if its not a ssac mani it would def be similar quality

this is a ssac toyota manifold.
retrofitting of the flange for a different turbo manifold isn't going to cause the changes in collector design seen. All of ssac manifolds use a collector that looks like it has been more or less bent to shape. it's like 4 pipes than eventually kinda blend into one, but there are 4 individual dimples at the top. On the toyota one you're talking about, the 4 runners are just welded to a flat plate that's used to cap the collector. This would have nothing to do with the flange for the turbo used, as it's the top of the collector, not the bottom. I really can't see SSAC changing their collector design for this one model when there is no reason to.
In the end, even if it isn't SSAC(which I don't think it is, for the above mentioned reason), it still looks like a huge piece of crap.

ah well, some people equate shiny-ness with quality... not much you can do about that.

reminds me a racoon...
OOHHH SHINY!
sax, in regards to the collector design, what i was geting at is that another guy is selling these claming that they arnt a SSAC product. I think he has been using the SSAC manifold as a base and then retrofitting the collector onto them. As u can see, the collection position is very similiar to that of the SSAC manifold..
i spose this whole argument could be solved if this guy actually posted pics of the collector insides and pics of the metal. from the look of the downpipe, i am 90% sure its all ssac standard materials

bracing: i had the same idea. why do u need bracing if its not cracked before?
weq, i had a custom manifold built for a 4age and it needed bracing, not just the manifold pipe was thin but because the turbo and dump pipe was quite heavy and not hanging onto anything else.
i assumed that it was a given to have bracing to hold the turbo?
u shouldnt need a brace. my mate has a custom manifold in a nice thick mild steel. works perfect. welding should HOLD like it was forged that way.. the reason these crack is cause the metal was 2 thin to start with to get a good penitraction and hold. no manifolds should have a brace unless the turbo is like 40kg or something.

it would make more sense(and be a whole lot easier), to just weld on a different turbo flange then to change out the entire collector.
I still don't think it's ssac... looks like the based it off the of the ssac design
another one of the big issues with the ssac manifolds is they used different types of steel for the flange and runners... really thin stainless for the runners, mild steel for the flanges

i just looked at my old pics and it actually didnt have bracing after all... oh well.
but back to the subject, like you, i also wouldnt buy that manifold. not because it looks like a copy but its if its that shiny, alot of labour would have gone into polishing the steel and for 450USD, it sounds abit dodgy. the guy also mentioned that it is fabricated in house, any workshop would have priced it alot more then that.
the plate that bolts the manifold to the engine looks to be pretty thin, i'd give seconds thoughts about it.
in any case, i know you frequent the US forums alot and like me, ive seen alot of US guys jump on the band wagon when one "respectable" user gets put down and tries to protect his reputation. i wouldnt bother wasting your time arguing with them.

good advice.
yeh im not going to bother with em anymore, lol. they abused me for not having a starlet! na i rekon they are good guys. i love those lil 4efte's! i'll head over to the dyno day and see what the say to my face ;)
