Here's what AEM says:

AEM Tru-Power pulleys increase power by reducing the parasitic drag caused by factory accessory pulleys. Our lightweight pulleys reduce rotating weight and are slightly oversized to maximize efficiency, which nets more horsepower at the wheels. We guarantee our pulleys' belt tooth profiles to match O.E. specifications, eliminating any chance of premature belt wear. Comprehensive installation instructions, replacement belts and AEM decals are included in every kit.

If you don't understand a word look it up here (http://www.dictionary.com)

The idea of the kit is to help the motor spool/spin up faster thus getting you down the track a little faster. There are some disadvantages like the alternator now spins slower because of the kit giving it a bigger pulley but lighter. Some kits do not come with the alternator pulley because they have the water pump and power steering pulleys. These are only a two pulley kit. The alternator pulley can be purchased separately though. The power gains are minimum and I never put mine on. It just isn't worth 5 hp in my car so I got rid of them.

Ive got the AEM ones on my lude and its pretty much just for look
doesnt provide much power but mainly abit of torque, you can feel abit pick up when u put you foot down but nothing huge, not cheap either the kit and shipping

it would be better off with higher power cars like turbo

cuz there isnt much power needed to spin the alternator and the power steering

to get more power from a pulley is the crack sharft pulley
but there are some disadvantage about that ie aircon wont get that cold
