Removing stuborn plug

Hi all,

Anybody got any tips to removing a stuborn wiring plug that connects the wiring to the ecu? It is one of those plugs that has a push in piece on the front. I have tried pushing in the piece and levering it out with a flathead, but it is not moving. I dont want to pull to hard on the wires as to damage them, so anybody got any suggestions?

squeeze the push down piece hard with your thumb and use the blade screwdriver to lever it out, while tugging gently side to side.

sometimes they have two things that need to be pushed in
also some that are mounted on metal brackets will have to be removed of the bracket first to come off
