need help, LS power windows

ok, so im driving around bout 20mins ago, and come 2 close my window, and the damn thing just wouldnt close. it would go half way up, then stop. so i pull over, and open it all the way, then try close it again, and it went up a quarter of the way. :confused:
now im at a mates house, as i dont exactly have a garage, and its starting to rain. only problem is, that my instruction thingy, which shows how to pull shit apart is at home. i wanna pull the interior door trim so i can access the power mechanism, mayb sumthing is stuck there.
so if any1 can help, it would b highly appreciated.

just take off the door trim and have a look at what you can see
you shouldnt need a manual
have you tried pulling while powering up

well i went home and got the manual
ive taken off the trim and the plastic thingy under it
but i have no idea wat 2 do after that, when i use the power switch, it goes up and down, and we can see the X thingy goin up n down, but it stops half way up.
i cant actually access the mechanism as i dont know how 2 remove the metal part between the glass and the outter door.
more over, it says that i need 2 wind the window up, in order to remove the the handles and lock. grrrr
