Ive got a R-Spec Data systems vtec engine control system(vtc82x) and ive been down to Evo-R and they couldnt figure out the installation because there one wire which is like a loop wire or sumshit. Today i took it to a Honda specialist in Box Hill and he said the same thing.. theres just 1 wire that they dont know wat to do with it..
Anyone got a wiring diagram for this controller or can anyone help me out?

beware of vtec controllers if the one you are using doesnt let you alter the fueling to suit you will prob lose power and ping the motor to death

but if he has a Vti-R b16a
and he chucks in a EK9 ecu.. wouldnt that already be bad??

u should sort out ur issues before installing a vtec controller. Unless your ecu is chipped, your vtec should activate where normal ~5500. if its not, something is wrong mechanically.

from memory the very first vafc's were knob dialled kinds and they didnt have air/fuel mixture functions to enrichen the mixture when vtec comes on, which causes vtec to lose power when engaged.

My old Spoon ECU came on at 4500rpm and black smoke would blow from exhaust everytime it hit VTEC (ensuring that i was running WAAY too rich!). And still no power! And i even had the Spoon cams to go with it as well. No use.

R-spec cant adjust fuel (correct me if im wrong) so therefore would make engaging VTEC early probably create an even bigger dip in your powerband as VTEC kicks in.
otherwise

My suggestion is VTEC should not be made to engage early as Honda had made the kick in point about spot on. As some very old and very wise men said "if it aint broke, dont touch it".
