HAHA ya I got the same issue. I built a new mount for mine then sold it to a friend so no pics. Brings the deck out about 1.5"/3.81cm. What I did this time, for now until I get bored and redo it, is to get a separate monitor from the DVD player. I mounted the monitor right in front of the pass. seat with Velcro and made a beauty panel to blend it in. then put the DVD player in the dash where the old deck was. Now I was thinking of taking the whole stock deck area, double din size, and mounting my monitor in it then taking out the ash tray and lighter and put the deck there. But that might not happen because I don't want to do it now!!! Let me know and I can make you a plate to bring the deck out or a panel beauty panel to cover the separate monitor on the dash.

can u show a pic of this dilemna your in?
quality flip-out screens.. have memorised angled settings so it will never hit once set... (depending how much of an obstruction the bits in your car are)

yeah as dfekm3 suggested... might need to use the bottom DIN.. instead of the traditional top one for a screen/monitor

and if it is just the screen, you can still have your in dash dvd player or cd player just on top of the screen, only downside is changing cd's etc you have to close ur screen,

but if its a all in one dvd player screen then should be aokay =)

ok some good ideas here but the will cover the a/c buttons still i ahve a few pics that i have picked up to show what i mean......
i vae been thinking fo the idea for a while now and i have seen many pics of different areas to put it i will post some pics now

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63/K2sInteg98/miscpics004.jpg
as u can see it covers the a/c buttons fromt he bottom din player
if u wanna put up with it fine, also when up the dvd player should miss the buttons by a little bit, although most dvd players have a tilt function so it can be change even if it does........... finally with this set up as i dont know if you are driving manual or auto i will say both when taking the dvd from being inside the player to viewing automatic will hit the stick in park
i have heard that manual being in neutral doesn't hit but not positive but being in first and 3rd and reverve will hit ( although u hsouldn't really be in those gears when watching movie hahahahaha) ;) ;)

finally i had the thought of putting in a screen with a different type of screenn mmovement etc into the double din space with its own mounting harness
this is the type of dvd player i mean

http://www.brashimports.com.au/7508%20-%20small.jpg
and similar in car once installed

not a bad way i think as long as it is mounted properly to keep theives away

let me kno of ur thoughts cheers and i hope this helps a bit

thanks guys for all ya input in to this..

stanleym if u have anymore pics of the first tvscreen it would be much apriciated. i was tending to head away from the double din screens as they are really expencive.

i had a idea of taking out the top air vents above the hazard lights and putting it in there then puttin a cheap double din screen down below. do u guys think this would be posable to do if so how hard will it be to make up brackets and what not to do??/

thanks guys

if i understand you correctly u are looking to do something along the lines of this??
http://www.magicalbox.com/casey/screen2/images/PICT0028.jpg
looks very clean but i dont think it closes down and might prove to be defectable due toobstructing vison
but i not positive
http://www.magicalbox.com/casey/screen/TI_on_screen.jpg?q=~casey/screen/TI_on_screen.jpg
also the dvd player off the unit i believe this is a custom moulded screen

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v79/starvinmrvn/Interior/DSC00838.jpg
this is another custom mould i think and not a position i really like i t thought i would post it for you none the less

also i have been looking a for a pic i think it is of a civic ek i dunno but is have a flip out moniter where the middle a/c part was all he did was cut out the plastic cross beams of the a/c vents mounted it in there not a bad install although u will lose that a/c vent area but will prob keep dvd player cold LOL

one more thing that dvd player i showed u in the first thread can be bought on ebay for i think 600 not positive but if u go to www.brashimports.com.au thay have that dvd player for 800 not bad i think considering there is a kenwood one for abour 3g
