New Crx To Be Released

hey pplz a few yrz back on this forum there was a topic of the new crx's to be launched was wondering if any one knows anything and when they will be launched any news is good news for me

i wanna b the one of the first ppl to own one :D

I dont see why they would re-introduce a discontinued model...there was a reason it was discontinued (im guessing financial reason or future direction)

the name of a model variant is just from he marketing dept bro.. so if the market is wanting something, anything is possible.

CRX rumours are just that - RUMOURS but if you look at Honda's development and model-release strategy, IF there was goin to be a new "CRX" it'd be not before 2008 before you see/hear anything official.

People stopped buying the CRX cuz now they want a big ass SUV!!! Honda noticed and took care of it. There is no plan to reintroduce the CRX any time soon. But that can change! I hope it does cuz they were awesome cars. My friends went forever, even on fumes!

Ive heard they were testing the new CRX in Melbourne about a year ago, and that a new model is meant to be released this year or next year in Japan.

IF it does happen that soon we won't see the car till '08 as Bede said.

Looking from a production view of Hondas line up, they are stopping S2000 production apparently, they stopped making the TypeR integra, stopped making the Prelude and revamped the NSX. Only sports car is a Civic TypeR. I do believe Honda might reintroduce the CRX again just to keep the Sports car range active. CRXs have a massive following around the world - and having killed off most other sports cars in the range - they would be fools to NOT have another pocket rocket.

We have to wait and see.

yeah but apparently power to weight ratio with the 1.6l they are quicker than the dc2 and 5 type r so i read about ages ago

yes and no - why would Honda want to leak information :P people have already been talking and speculating about a new one for years, photoshoping other Hondas to make the 'NEW' CRX.

It would be easy while the car is being speculated, but once any prototype/initial drawings are made, it would begin to spread. And a completely new CRX is something that would take a long time, rather than for example, a new look civic.

if that pic of a black crx is legitamate i think they need to start over - the car has now flowing lines at all the design looks like dc5 headlights with ep tails ep doors and a squashed dc5 shell and very jagged blend from the door to the rear 1/4 window
and it also looks realy low for a standard car but it dose have a very strange apeal mabe thats just because all my cars where gen2 crx's

That image has been doing the rounds for years, somewhere I read that it was a Californian School of Art student project. Got picked up on the net, the next thing you know it's being reported as a new model...(or so the rumours go)

Why would honda do an expensive CRX when there is the Civic Coupe in it's major market - the US?

There have been rumours of a new CR-X for ages (even going back to the old ken-woods crx mailing list days)

...but if Honda throws a curveball and one does show up, thats cool too, cause I'll buy all your old ones!

i got the feeling the new crx will look very similar to the dc5 front, reason is looking at all other car brands they seem to keep the same shape e.g. Nissan 350z and new Skyline they just look the same but the badge is different

haha... true... but will shock other drivers when you're at the lights beside them - and in a flash of the green light, while their brain is processing the concept of releasing the clutch pedal while other foot is pressing the accelerator - you're long gone! :P

especially if they release the 'concepted' idea of a 2L with only 800kg body.
