1. Were exactly does it leak? On the side windows? Heres a fix if you rubbers are still ok. Open the driver side door. Put the window down. Stand between the door and the car. Push the quater window toward the car, don't push it too hard as you don't want to bust it. This quater window acts as a track for you window as it goes up and down. By pushing this quater window in toward the car the window will put a more possitive seal on the rubbers when the door is closed. After all the years of slamming the door this would have had an opposite affect. This is just a meathod of reseting it. It worked on my car, just be carefull with it, would not want you to bust the quater window.

2. Creaks would just be from the dry rubbers due to the chassis flexing. My roof is pretty good, but creaks sometimes. I have developed a creak in the dash as well. Just keep the rubbers lubed up with silicon. Theres also a sort of track near where the door latch is. Make sure that is lubed up with grease as well.

3. Check out the switches that the doors close on. Make sure they operate well when just using your fingers. The switches earth out to the chassis when the door is open.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the tips i'll try the door one and see if stops the leaks, how often should i lube up the seals/rubbers?
and an the light thing, both latches are good they lock when i use my finger, dont know if im doin it right, but the weird thing is that when the passengers door is closed it makes a dungggg... noise, sounds like the door is empty. however the drivers side doesnt make the same sound could it be that??

If you want to take car of you rubbers I would do it every month or so.

With the lights I'll take a look at my del slow tonight and check out how the switch makes contact with the door etc.

it's very common to have the light come on in the sol when you have one wheel up on the curb, etc... having it occur while driving isn't as common, but still happens

I have never had this probem in my del sol.
I'd like to know what the reason behind it is???
Is it becasue the chassis is twisting and the door has not got positive contact on the light switch?

This happend to mine in the past.

The metal piece on which the door jams against when shut needs adjusting.

and yeah, it happens due to body twist.

no, not possible.

Its the silver metal piece, bolted to the door jam with 2 bolts, at the other end of the hinged side of the door.

it's a chasis flex issue

mine doesn't do it, so I can't go poking around to figure it out

anyone actually found places that redo seals specifically for the targas?

i've asked a window place and they quoted me ~$600.

only other option was to purchase all the rubber and sealant from manufacturer....
