i heard the only difference between the jap spec dc2r and aus spec dc2r is the ECU, the jap spec's ecu puts out the full power and potential of the engine, unlike the aus spec its limited, and plus the headlights
im planning to replace my aus spec ECU, whats a recommended ECU for my stock dc2r engine, to put out its full potential without internal mods, i got a headers/catcon/catback muffler system and apexi intake,

yes, to a 100% stock AUDM DC2R...

so no point in replacing it, if im not doing my internals? or i can still replace it?

you really are just guessing that it is a restriction, why not dyno the car to see if it NEEDS to be tuned?
a set of power runs at a dyno place cost between 50 to 100 and will tell you how the ECU is handling your current modifications...

just 1 question.
what is the diametre of a stock AUD ITR exhaust???
im thinking of upgrading to a DC2R soon,
but ill be on E plates so i dont want to make loud exhaust noise but still want to put a nice header and tune it up with Hondata and maybe set of cams.
You can get a good free flow exhaust that is quiet. I have a Fujitsubo RM01A, it's a nice system and very quiet, or Mugen/XForce twin loop system which are also good.

then what is the difference between the jap spec dc2r and the aus spec dc2r, except for the headlights?

^^ i think you will find that the jap spec itr has different ignition timing and air/fuel ratios due to their octane rich, and CLEAN fuel.
Aus itr's are tuned to run on Aus fuels, correct me if i'm wrong tink.

headers, cat converter, ecu tuning, 16in wheels...
by all means, replace the ECU, but you should understand that with teh modifications you already have, the JDM ECU may be just as good as the AUDM ECU...
maybe you need to think about a VAFC or PowerFC?

i cant use power fc with no internal mods, power fc is professional type of ECU, i jus need one that will comply and tune to the mods i have,
