weneva i drive, and especially if i push my car (rev high, take hard turns, etc etc) that my fuel gauge indicator will slowly rise & stay on full??

after leaving the car off overnight, itll return to how much is really left in tank, but itll soon go 'full' and stay like that until i turn the car off for another couple hours. sometimes, it even stays on full for a few days after ALOT of driving. i didnt notice till frendz started pointing it out

its annoying cus i have to guess how much is left n rely mostly on the yellow fuel light indicator to tell me wen fuels starting to get low. i cant really tell by the k's done as theres variables

i figured its old age (95 civic sedan gli), the fuel gauge/system is stuffd or is this normal?? just lookin for reasonable explanation y this happens

i wish my fuel tank really DID stay full tho lolz

hay bro, i know a common problem with cars in general that cause cause the fuel needel to play up is with the sending unit in the fuel take.

it sometimes get dirty and needs a clean.
its an easy DIY job as long as u have basic knowlage about cars.

basically, u gotta pull the sender unit outta the fuel tank,
remember what position it is at (do this when its reading a tru level)
get some kinda cleaning stuff like turps and clean the whole unit.
put every thing back together and set it the sending unit to the original level.

Now i dun know if this will fix the problem but i had to do this with both my prelude and my exa so im guessing its jst a general issue.

good luck

sorry for a late thanx, hopefully its just dirty

ok, my needles been stuck on full for over week now. has never gone down n i always seem to get empty when im in a rush to go somrwhere. it only takes a few minutes to find a station & fill up, but its still a bother at the most inconvenient times

anyway, does anyone know how to pull the sender unit out of the fuel tank??

what is turps??

i dont think i can set it at the right level cus its stuck on full right now, but im guessin since i got a low tank atm i just set it at low??any tips??
