The story is:
1. Start up the engine.
2. Till warm up, ran around 20m and stop.
3. The idle suddenly go to 500rpm. Sometimes engine off. (i need to keep to step the accelarator)
4. I step on the accelerator and keep going.
5. Driving (http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1491407#) around 2-3 mins and stop the car. Nice idle. No problem at all.
6. I switch on the air-cond. The idle is very rough. Between 600rpm-1600rpm.
7. I switch off the air-cond. The idle becomes normal. I cleaned the IACV and throttle body (http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1491407#). No cel on. I checked the spark plug (http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1491407#). They are normal. I am very confusing. Anyone can help?

I also had similar problems with my engine idle, the revs were jumping all over the place. Once I screwed back in the FITV it was back to normal.
Here is a guide:
http://www.emotors.ca/Articles/97.aspx
here's the location of the FITV (on a civic but it should be similar to an Integra):

I guess bad sparkplugs or a failing distributor coil/cap (or just the distributor timings/alignment) could also cause this behaviour.

It should be just under the Throttle body on the driver side, directly below the Air duct.
You need a 11mm (I think its 11mm, but could be 12mm) wrench to take out the three bolts underneath the FITV module and it will drop off.
Open the brass plate on the end of the module and simply screw the white FITV knob back in using a flathead screwdriver.
In that picture above, its where I highlighted it in blue.
[edit] I think there is a problem with images in OzHonda - I cant see any.
Anyway here is the direct link to the pic: http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/3387/throt19ck.jpg

BTW eurodude - your "thinking" dosent apply 100% to Bseries motors - does anyone know where the FITV is ?

LOL, is there actually an FITV on the B-Series?
Surely the B-Series has a similar mechanism on the throttle body somewhere ;)

Ed - when was your last ECU reset?
i doubt it will help, but worth a try whenever something erratic like this pops up...

also eurodude - there are no 11mm nuts or bolts anywhere on a Honda...

Yeah I was wandering about that, must have been thinking of a 10mm or 12mm.
cheers.

BTW Dave or whoever ~ could be a faulty distributor cap or something else in the ignition ? Or fuel supply issue?

nah, no idea Ben, can be intermittant, but mostly related to IACV control...
that is why suggested ECU reset :)
eurodude - they are 12mm for sure ;)

There are two holes on the IACV. One with screen and one without. Should i clean both holes or just the screen one?

spray carbie cleaner through both holes, and make sure the screen is as clear as possible...

I sprayed carby into two holes yesterday. The problem is still here. Any suggestions !!

I'll throw around some ideas:
Change the Fuel Filter
Get the Distributor checked and timings tuned
Check the Air Filter
Spray carby cleaner in the Idle Air bypass tube/hole
Check the resistance of the Spark Plug leeds
Reset the ECU
Adjust the idle screw (quick fix)
Replace the engine oil and oil filter, use a different brand of oil such as Mobil 1
Check/clean the fuel injectors, maybe buy some injector cleaner fuel additive
Start using higher octane fuel

also check for new vaccuum leaks - a pipe here or there might of come loose.
Running a "oil catch can" etc ? Check around for leaks !

i had a similar problem with my dc2r conversion! after heaps of $$$ spent no one could work it out! went to some other place in brisbane. the dude is a honda guru! he told me to get the computer checked out! i took it to the best possible place (name withheld) dick heads told me its fine! i didnt believe them so i borrowed a friends ecu !!!....magic ...problem solved. dick heads cost me $600 bucks, cos of misdiagnose! continued to change perfect parts, $$$ spent!
so try and find a friend with the same ecu! give it a go bro ...work for me!

But wouldnt a simple ECU reset be the same thing as changing hte ECU?
...unless the ECU was faulty off course. Did you try your ECU in your friends car?
