Hi,

If you are concerned with handling, then don't sacrifice on good tyres as they are everything.

My recommendation are the Yokohama A539s. Around $200 a corner and you can get around 30Ks out of them easy.

u wont even get decent 14's for that price sorry -

try turing ur tyres - IE swapping the rears for the fronts ( the rear tyres wear rates is slower than the front ) and then buy only new tyres for the front....around $140.00 for Bridgestone G3 for 195x50x15 i believe.

OR just wait to c wat other people have to say !

LOL. go read the "Bridgestone RE711" thread I put up in the "Integra" section. There are lots of posts about tyres there.

I'm using dunlop fm901s and love them. Although they tend to be a bit on the dearer side.

I've heard that BS Potenza GIII are Bang for your Bucks. If you have a budget (like me) and are looking for good street tyres, then get these. I've heard quotes from as low as $110 upto $195 for one of these tyres, but if you shop around then you will ge tthem cheap. That price is for the 195/55/15 size.

If you can spend $200 per corner, I've only heard good things about the very rare RE711. Check the thread Hadean pointed out. He can probably get you one of the last sets of these tyres in Australia. I would get one, but I can't be bothered getting them shipped to Sydney and the cost. I'm on a tight budget right now so I'm going for GIII.

I think you can get some Falken Azenis for 15's for under $200 a corner. Not sure which model number they are though.

Yea GIII's are best bang for ya buck....me and ek004 both got em for $110 a piece..so $440 fitted and balanced...but they went upto $118 2 weeks ago when I went wif a friend to get em...

They grip very good for a $110 tire..hehe...So yea I reckon GIII's are best budget tire around....

What is the thread pattern and compound like?

Could you post a picture of the thread pattern, I'd really appreciate that.
I'm looking for a low budget upgrade to my poor tires. How well do these handle say compared other tyres you have?

Thanks.

Well I reckon that the tread pattern looks really alike to S03's, and my friend also agrees wif me on this....Well I havent used any other good tires before so I can't really compare (I used some badly worn FM901's before these) , but these grip surprisingly well in the wet. I would highly recommend these as a budget tire.

Where did you pick them up for that price and how long ago - I have to do mine and am on a budget this time round - otherwise I'd be going yokohamas.

A539s?

How well do these GIIIs compare to say the A539s?..........my last set of tyres were these and I am looking for a budget replacement for my current tyres that grip almost as good as the A539s.

LOL - last time I had Yokohamas on a car was a 3TGTE powered TA22 Celica with A008Rs. Unfortunately I burnt through them real fast - but I've always been a Yokie fan.

The GIIIs look good - I might have to see if I can find somewhere near Paramatta to get them. I'm after 195x55x15

u might find that the 195/55/r15 are like $160....the 195/50/r15 are much cheaper.....they go for special..the gy said that there is less demand for 55's, do they dun stock em as much...

165 for the GIII in 195x55x15 :( That's nuts in the price difference

they are 195/55/15 I believe.

I wouldn't say they are as good as my dunlops but they are still quite grippy overall and decent handling in dry and wet.
