View Full Version : dc2 b18c gsr vs mivec 2ltr v6 gpx fto

Hey guys i have a mate with a mivec fto, and he insists that mivec is way better than vtec, his car makes roughly 120kw @ wheels.. Last night we went out for a cruize and had a couple of playfull runs, anyway I was beating him comfortably, pulling non stop..
He got the jump off line too and as soon as 1st picked up i was infront and gone.. now my car makes 107kw at fronts which i'm told is less than standard and i'm running through the stock LS gearbox so i fall outa vtec badly from 1st to 2nd.. I was just wondering if this is the normal outcome in a fto vs integra type run or is his car shit or is my car quick for the low power and high ratio's i have?

My friend has an xr6 he took to eastern creek and he ran consistent 14.7's with a pb of 14.6, when we stuffin around our cars are side by side, basically no difference, from launch till we both back off so we have agree'd that would mean my car would be running the same as his.. also he says that he has had a few runs with fto's before and he says he too leaves them for dead.. Any way i really just wanna hear people's oppinions on the whole matter..

I'm not trying to start a mivec vs vtec war like other post's i have read i'm just after some answer's coz i was honestly thinking he would give me a decent run?

A while ago I took one of those FTOs for test drive and they did impress me in a way, but I still like Vtec better, so got my civic (with B18C2). I had a race with few FTOs and I just killed them, expesialy 2nd and 3rd gears.
Now I have ITR and I am still waiting for FTO to come next to me:)

what engine/mods do you have to get your LS running at 107kw ?

It's a jap spec b18c engine swap to get the 107kw.. but isn't 107 less than standard.. a friend has b16a and its stock with exhaust and makes 97kw at the fronts and i've been told in stock form b18c should be puttin 112 - 114 to the fronts..

Are you talking about what i have been told they make standard? Because i have the dyno print out to prove my 107...

107 is just about right for a stock B18c
112-115KW at the front wheel is more liek a B18CR

depends on the dyno.

a stock vti-r integra should be able to do a low 15...

107kw is good for a stock vtir

95-100 is stock

i ran 109 with i/h/e tune

Compare the actual numbers yourself , and take it to the real world ( IE track or drag strip) to work out the winner.
