HELP- Ignition light on Car running not good

My friend is in urgent need of help, He got a 2000 Honda prelude with a Apexi Vafc II, the car was running fine today until someone drove his car and played around with the Vafc, he now needs help fixing the car.

What setting should be in teh VAFC? Or could it be some other problem.
Problems he has are:

Ignition warning light on.
Car running like crap.
Black smoke coming out of car.

so its probably not the VAFC?

dude it probably is the vafc. someone played with the fuel and now its choking. Mite have to tune the car agn or get your mate that played with it to pay someone to tune it if you arent confident.

best thing do is put it back to monitor setting as this will just monitor all the stock settings. Then you can have the settings fixed next time you have it tuned. but be very carefull i was warned with mine that if it was set wrong an vtec was to cut in it could damage the whole valve train
