same situation here, I was about asking the exavt same question and also waiting for 3 weeks ; )
My car is EK1 and atm i'm leaning towards tein ss, but it's so rare in wa with that price. If any1 know place selling tein ss in perth from $1450, please let me know.....

I would go the tein SS coilovers. at least they are height adjustable whereas the other options won't be as flexible. Heard many good things about the Tein SS's.

Also 16 damper settings!

cheers

hehehe i been pondering on this same situation for ages and i'm saving the extra couple of hundred for the SS. when u look at the prices there is like 350$ between them all, which out of $1100+ isnt that much more.
extra week of saving and u'll have a very good product with heaps of adjustability

so is there a really noticable differences between the three, as i need another 700-800 to go for SS.... :( i need new tires as well :( well no movies and going out for awhile then
or should i buy koni yellows - $850 and use stock springs
cheers guys thanks for the replies, keep the comments comin

go for the teins they are worth the money, you wont regret it. With the tein SS on a softer setting it will be comfortable for daily driving and you can easily adjust it for some spirited driving in less than 5 minutes.

civicCXI: if you find out how much shipping a set from Brisbane to Perth is I may be able to help you out.

I just bought a set of wheels from edw-R who lives in brisbane and the shipment is $100.

I dont think u need it for dc2. Check the table on http://www.xspeed.com.au/shop/product_info.php?cPath=30_121&products_id=1628
Compare it to dc5
http://www.xspeed.com.au/shop/product_info.php?cPath=30_121&products_id=1630
Dunno what it is but it's useless for ek and perhaps for dc2 too by looking at that table.
you might also want to look at http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30918 only the guy seems to be away atm

I'm thinking about getting tein ss as well (from edw-R) and thinking about getting EDFC (Electronic Damper Force Controller) for $650 which only compatible with tein i think.
Some ppl I know who use koni shocks, also use super low king springs.
Koni + stock spring won't give you the low look u after. So if you get super low springs as well, you'll get the low look and better handling.
Spend a little extra on tein and you won't be dissappointed

G-Stick
22-01-2006, 08:29 PM
so koni isnt that low with stock.? i just want it to be like 1.5 fingers of clearance from the tyre to the guard. and i aint gonna be hard core on the tracks. matter of saving i guess, schools coming up and all that expenses $$$

dc2 vtir or dc2 type r? because if going tein ss for a vtir you will need lower control arms to suit. i believe edw-R has it bundled (tein SS + lca) for $1580 or so.

konis with stock springs will lower your car because of the adjustable perches, will go straight onto your car, not having to worry about lcas. from what youve said, i think the konis are more for you, but imo teins are better overall.

thanks egads yeh its a vtir .i dont wanna spend too much money on it as i have my rego coming in and mummy aint gonna be paying for it :( . oh well iam gonna be getting the konis and stock spring set up for the moment. thanks guys for the input as it helped alot.

any1 know where edw-R has gone to? he hasn't been around lately. I need to order tein ss from him, he's the cheapest, tein ss costs $1900 in perth

barefootbonzai

email him, it's the only way you'll get to him.

after thinking about it, i think i'm gonna move away from tein ss now and save some $$ for my audio. I've been quoted

I would suggest that the best way to spend your funds is with a good,
solid base of four Lovells "Sport Low" springs and 4 KYB gas shocks. The
springs will give your Civic a lower, sportier look and a slightly firmer ride
for improved handling and road holding - without rattling your teeth out. The
Japanese manufactured shocks will control the springs to make the package
complete. Including a wheel alignment to set it all up right, you're looking
at $1,160.00.

What do you guys think???

cant get that in melb can ya?????
interested

civicCXI
25-01-2006, 08:02 PM
they must have it in melb, let's face it melb is bigger than perth. But if they don't go http://www.wasuspensions.com.au, maybe you can buy the susp. package from these guys.
I've no idea about KYB gas shock and lovells springs but my research shows they are good. That's why I need opinions from you guys.

im sure you can get kyb shocks in melb.....gotta look a little harder dude....

why dont you look at d2 coilovers, havent had any experience with them but reviews seem to be very good....and there priced pretty good too...local price prolli about 2k installed....buh im sure u can get a set of someone on ozhonda for alot less then that and install shouldnt be much on top of that...if not free if u DIY

if ur on a budget then stick to shocks and springs, koni + eibach or something like that will set u back round 1.2-1.3k....IMHO if your gonna go anything less then that then just save up a bit more or longer and get the koni setup...u'll b happier

i was gonna get the koni and eibach set up but the trader on here doesnt have any in stock and i dont no where else to look, and doesnt have koni's by itself. so now iam leaning towards tein SS, gonna be $1750 installed and its gonna be at least 3-4 weeks for me to save up.

wat do u guys think about these shocks compared to konis http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33185

thanks for reply :)

r they the gas shock ones? I think i'm leaning toward these shocks (KYB) now since they're affordable and been heard nothing but good things about them.

forget the rest
get the teins

G-Stick
28-01-2006, 11:08 PM
well i would love too but i have re-evaluated my situation and this is wat i came up with,
1. i am strap for cash so i cant save up $1750 just for suspension,
2. iam not gonna be tracking and any hard core drift style turning if i could,
3. my suspension seems to be wreaked and my front left is higher then the rest and makes a wierd noise wen turning hard to the right and needed to be checked asap.
4. the rest of the money can be spend on a new alarm, sound system, sway+tie etc

so anyone out there recommend ANY springs i can use with these. or hook us up with anything good.
