For the past few years, i have used honda easycover insurance, the prices are just about the lowest around, and they only cover Honda cars. Its very good and you do get free 24/7 road assistance plus if you do have a prang you can choose your own repairer.
Get a free quote from your dealers rep, and see. When i was getting prices i rang around dozen companies and decided Honda easycover was just as good with extras.

One advantage of Hondacover is that if your car is written off or stolen in the first 3 years, you get a brand new replacement (other insurance usually do only 2 years, if they do have this sort of replacement deal). Price-wise, they are similar to NRMA. Actually, the premium might even be similar to AAMI for comprehensive cover.

I got a quote from Just car for $7XX for a brand new 06 Euro base with fog and $35 more for rating one protection and as well just logged in a claim last year Dec. I am 25 btw

Put the excess to $750 and the premium was $596.54
cheapest one ive found so far!

Honda Easy cover use Swann Insurance if I remember correctly. Never had a problem with them but the only claim I had to make was for a cracked windscreen. It was attended to promptly.

I'm with AAMI and pay $6XX per annum. AAMI put me on rating 1 whilst the other insurance co's would only do rating 2 which made a huge diff. Honda Ins was $9XX when I got a quote and couldn't justify the extra $300/yr. My wife's car is also with AAMI and she's rating 1 which made a huge difference. I was with RACQ b4 my Euro but they wanted over a grand because I'd just had an accident with my old car (hence why I sold it).
btw I'm 27. Was 26 when I bought my Euro.

That's a good price but as well it depends on where u stay as well and some other fact
more over, Just Car do let ppl modify their car to whatever they want which is y i choose Just Car all the time. Have claims for twice and no trouble at all.
I dun really like to raise my excess somehow. =)

Do Budget Direct Online or Honda Easycover give you a pay by the month option? I'm currently with CGU and am paying too much by the sounds of things - around $1000 per annum... I'm 30, and a rating one...

my old man got quoted $870 with Allianz, its not Honda Easy cover, but its Honda's underwriter i guess. You guys are getting a much better deal though!
how did you guys manage to get fogs on the 06 models? the dealer wouldn't give me fogs with the base model unless i paid a significant amount more =( they reckon installing it was a hassle since theres no hole ready for the fogs in the std models .

Anymore suggestions on Insurance? So far its $870 hit up with Allianz, they offer to insure any unamed drives under 30 for like $900 excess + some other random excess . Over at CGU / Swann, i've got to be named into the insurance to be covered = $3000 !!!

Just remember a lot of the companies like Budget direct and Allianz do not allow mods. The company I go through does ...Unique Cars. I am insured with them even though I work for the parent company of Swan,NRMA and CGU. I pay 9xx through them which is underwritten by Lloyds. They also will allow unlimited mods on your car and choice of repairer. Not many insurance companies do. And as you can see I have quite a few mods. Also be wary if you do mods and not advise the insurance comany and have an accident you may not be insured.

Hi,
Im in Perth, WA and am 23.
I have a 04 Euro Lux with 18"
I got full NCB and also have a NCB protection which allows me 1 claim per year and still retain my full NCB. Also anyone that drives the car and causes an accident i am still covered, and all the other rig ma roles ie 1 window claim etc.
The insurance company is called RAC ( i believe this is WA based company), and i am paying $672 per year.

okay... my mum insured with AMP and was a little difficult for gettting all the info right...
first there was no MY06 Euro Lux in the data system in AMP's data base at the end of DEC last year so we first insured as 05 euro lux.. and with unlimited days of car rentals the total figure was about $1058 ( female driver age 45, rating 1 for life)
and i rang up AMP again to make sure everything is updated... our insurer didn't follow on our case and basically i have tell him its a 06.. but then he said it can't be insured as 06 model coz its 05 plate...
now with the sat nav option.. it premium increaed a bit more to $1100...:S not happy
and i did the on-line quote for justcar and putted me as the youngest driver and it only cost just above a grand...
but AMP claims that they will replace a new vehicle if the existing vehicle has been written off in 2 yrs...

I dunno dude, didnt really try them but I think im gonna take my Legend over to them because NRMA doesnt want to insure it with all the mods done to it and I have told you exactly whats been done so you know its an extensive list. I have it insured as stock standard at the moment which is a joke if anything happens to the car. Thats exactly why I rarely drive it. What are you paying with justcars if you dont mind me asking? Because I might move both the Euro and Legend over to them.

On a side note to TypeG,
I'm quite surprised you bought a Euro considering how you previously bashed the Euro as a "4 door family car"

Different states have different rates. Insurance companies base what you pay around the area you live in. type of accidents by mean age. also risk to them based on statistics. Melbourne and Sydney are always going to be more expensive due to the higher probabilty of things going wrong. You can not compare them against QLD,WA and SA because of this also country versis city driver. Unfortunate and as unfair as it seems. Also mods to them mean a greater risk hence the increase in premium even to you as a driver it makes no sense a person with lots of mods has a higher chance that he is a driver who tends to speed or a greater chance of having an accident, also the view that the vehicle is a greter risk of being broken in to or stolen.... that is how they view it anyway. So Bill|z0r how can you say Zyliia he is being ripped based on where he lives ...The gold coast based on your location would be much cheaper than Sydney. Also being 24 and in a high risk group in the insurance companies mind makes him a far greater risk than say a 40 year old. Which has many more years of driving experience (based on statistics (not my opnion)) so which if you were a insurance company statistcly which would you prefer to insure.... hence a cheaper premium for the older driver. Like every one in general shop around and go with the best not cheapest....read the fine print ....and options with your insurance for your dollar. It is a harsh world when it comes to this but what choice does any one else have.... except not to insure then the risk is totally on you.

I don't know for sure but I could believe that an insurance company would add an extra $1000 to the premium to cover a very stealable portable GPS navigation device that gets left in the car unattended. Have you tried getting a quote without covering the navman? Then you would take the navman with you when you leave the car. If you are paying like $700-1000 extra per year just for the navman cover, you could be using that money to buy a new GPS every year.
I just tried the nrma online quote system and got quoted $1,510.18 (with 65% no claim) for a 24yr old male in Sydney insuring the vehicle for $47000. This doesn't exactly match your circumstances but it was just an example of what you could be quoted.
Sorry for all of the assumptions I am making. I am happy to be corrected.
Tobster

I doubt that the insurance would cover a portable GPS -- because it's portable and therefore not part of the car. Unless your insurance covers possessions in your car.
Don't forget that lots of insurers take into account what suburb the car is generally parked in during the day and at night, if it's on the street or in a lock-up garage, etc.
Your driving record, how long you've been driving as well as your age are all factors.
Realistically, if we all want our insurance premiums to go down, then it's up to all of us as drivers to discourage (for the most part) young blokes from driving like wankers on the roads: they're the highest accident statistic... You can have a nice, even modified, car but driving responsibly is the most important thing.

I Highly agree with that. I'm Only 21 and i dont drive like an a**hole, Not saying that i didnt but I did and No longer driving like that due to losing a friend in an accident like that. I sit at the lights and might rev my car and the guy next to me might think i'm gonna drag him but hell no i know that road far too well and i'm not going to go down it either. (if you get wat i mean)

I have MY06 Euro Lux (No Sat) insured with Savings and Loans (Underwritten by CGU) at $9XX, option to pay by month at NO additional charge. Policy will allow some mods (none made yet), and has New Car replacement for 3 Years if written off. I am rating 1, 32 years old driver.
I think I am in a higher risk area as NRMA quote was about $15XX.

Well im 24, and have been on my Gold license for a while. So I dont think that my record plays a part in my case. I live in Bankstown which is considered a high crime area so thats probably why. The car is always locked up and garaged. As for the portable GPS, i stipulated this when I was negotiating my policy and I made sure that they understood that it was portable and they were fine with covering it.

Do not get the honda insurance, I crashed mine and I havent gotten in back. Its been 8 weeks, I dont get a new car. They never tell you anything and if you have to talk to them expect to wait about 40 minutes on the phone. They may be cheap but there is a reason. Stick with suncorp or aami or something. It's always a bad idea to go with things on offer from dealers.
Whether it be finance, insurance, parts, servicing etc, they tend to be more expensive compared to what you can find elsewhere.

When you look at the fine print based on what I have been told ...You give them the rights to use second hand parts or alternative part manufacturers...so you may end up with a Taiwanesse Bonnet or Guard....It also happened to me on my old Lancer.
As stated before just read the fine print of any policy of any company to ensure you get what you are paying for. Also I am a strong advocate of freedom of choice to take your car to where you want to, some insurance companies don't allow this. AAMI for instance you drop it off to one of there Drive in centres and from there where the car goes they decide not you....This may not be the case in all circumstances of course but having your own choice is a great thing. I would ask any insurnace company if you have the choice of where you take your pride and joy.

Well... nrma just sent us a letter about renewing the insurance
as it stands its about $15xx and this is under mum's name with 60% no-claim bonus..but i guess living in south-west sydney didnt help much ey? lol
i guess ur premium is also affected by the amount that you pay for your excess
say you want to pay a smaller excess, you can choose to pay a higher premium instead and vice-versa
how much are ppl paying for their excess? atm, being unlisted, under 25 and still on Ps... around the $16xx mark, aint cool
any recommendations for what an insurance must have?
General consensus is
1. Choice of repairer
2. All mods are covered for
Anything else we should add to the list? pardon me for being a noob on this :p
tanalasta

You sure it's $15xx with the maximum NCB included??? Perhaps it's because your name is on the driver's list - and if you don't have the NCB accumulated, the premium is adjusted accordingly.
Excess for me = standard RAC $200 + under 26 $300. I only pay the age excess if I'm the driver and at fault (or someone younger than me is driving).

just dont get honda easy cover, swann insurance sux.. ppl who say it is good probably just love their packages (3 year car replacement if total loss) and never actually made a claim with them... their system is old and the service sux, it was a deep pain inside the asshole dealing with them.. i've made 2 claims with them before and none of case i was at fault..
unless u expect to write off ur car in 3 years.. then my suggestion is go to some other more reputated company.. aami, allianz are good.

I found out some bad things about just cars. I am 26 yrs old and occasionaly my sister 23 yrs old on P plates drives the car. If she was not on the policy, just cars would not cover my car if she had an accident. They told me they dont cover younger drivers than the policy holder. thats crazy, no wonder they were cheap.

It depends which suburb you are living in. My insurance went from $800 in Melb to 1400 in Homebush West because of its proximity to Auburn. :(
U sure?! :P
I live near Lidcombe which is closer to Auburn. Car is insured under dads name and we pay about $1200 with NRMA comprehensive.

$1500 excess!why so high an excess?
high excess to reduce the premium.... for a basic excess of $500, the premium will be like $1.6k plus

Sydney insurance is a rip-off
Yup, it's the higher rate of crime here. When I moved from Melb to Sydney, my premium almost doubled! Nothing else was changed other than my address.

AGREED, hence why the car insurance isn't under my name also cause i am under 25 atm.
Only recently got NRMA to insure me for the mods i've done, not all though but most.

I will complain. I've bene paying high insurance for years and they are full of shit. Thats my 2 cents.
I was paying $1500 a year on a $12 000 Celica when i was 22 years old!

I work in insurance so i get these questions all the time.
Although the value of the car does have an influence on the car most insurers rate the premium not soley based on value. The reason why you pay the same if not more for a car that is older and worth less in value is because of the statistics against the car, how many get into accidents, the nature of the accident, cost for repairs and availability of parts.
Other influences include Area, depending on the insurer they might even rate it down to the house number. and its not only the crime rate, again they look at how many claims in that area the nature of claims, how much they have paid out in that area.. I'm pretty sure AAMI released an offical statistic saying that most accidents happen within 2kms of your home.
Definately Age and Gender influence the premium and naturally the rating/no claim bonus or discount. Males cost more to insure then females, under 25's (and no it doesn't dramatically drop once you turn 25, its a progressive thing), age group etc.
Then you have the enviable, like inflation, stamp duty and taxes on the insurance, and depending on whats happened the year before premiums may rise due to overall claims.

In all circumstances, it is important for each person to be calling up and getting quotes for their own insurance because what i pay is different to everyone else because my circumstances are different to yours.
Read the pds and more importantly read what they don't cover. Sux to pay insurance but nothing to complain about when your the one that decided to purchase the car.

i still call BS. Regardless of this if I had a crash from day one i was paying $800 a year and got paid out $34 000. Not is 3 years later Im still paying $800 and they only have to pay out $22 000. Huge wn for aami.
i havent had any accidents or claims at all. So I dont care what the statistic are, i can only look at my record.
I had an "agreeded" value on my celica, it never went up and the payout was also was the same for years after. But now for my new car the payout drops but the payments are the same! WTF?
That why im dumping aami soon.

You'll experience the same thing with most other companies..
Remember that insurance companies are a business they are there to make money... They don't know you personally to make that risk assessment all they have is data collected over decades to make that call..
Personally I'm with Aami for my navara and correct me if i'm wrong Aami pay out Agreed value or market value which ever is higher.

2 door cars like celica or my previous civic coupe have a higher insurance premium then a 4 door saloon..... hence my decision of not getting an integra but instead getting an accord euro.

I have play around with the internet quotes from various companies to come to that conclusion.... 4 door civic vs a 2 door one vs a coupe one... 2 door lancer compare to a 4 door one, integra compare to other hondas, celicas, high performance cars - 2door vs 4door etc...
Those that are sporty, or look sporty tend to have higher premium....

yes, 2 door cars generally attract a higher premium than 4 door versions. Does not matter if the 2dr version is actually sportier than the 4dr cousin. Fact that lots of p platers drives a 2 door might be a reason.
